It was obviously unusually hot that week but it wasn't unprecedented so cancellations seemed more of a reaction to the Met Office's Alert rather than an actual assessment of the conditions.

@chilternrailway The temperature this week is similar to 2 weeks ago when you cancelled half your trains, so why is it safe to run a full timetable this week? Or do you only cancel trains if the Met office issue a red alert, regardless of the actual temperature?

@sainsburys Another week gone and another week I had to shop at @Tesco because the car park lift at your Beaconsfield store is still not fixed. (It's been over a month now). Does the management there not have any clout with the lift repair company or are they just incompetent?

@sainsburys You don't need the name and address of individual customers to tell whoever's responsible for your Beaconsfield store to get the lift fixed because it's losing you business! (If you want a solution why not have someone take customers up and down in the service lift?)

@sainsburys Why is it taking so long to get the lift working in your Beaconsfield store? This is the one lift that serves the upper car park so with spaces often hard to find on the ground floor makes the nearby @Tesco a much better option.

@GasmanCOTN @WhitecapsFC I got to see @WhitecapsFC a couple of years ago at BC Place and got talking to the locals in a nearby bar beforehand. I was surprised they'd even heard of Wycombe but they were very interested in how we were doing. Mark Rogers, it seems, still fondly remembered in those parts!

@chilternrailway The amended timetable has trains from MYB towards HWY, BCF, etc at 23:10 and 23:40. This is much better than the usual ridiculous timings with 2 trains within 4 mins of each other (at 23:11) then nearly an hour wait. It's so much better to space the trains out.

@martincnwoch I assumed it was part of the loan agreement that we had to play him. It was difficult to think of another reason why he was such a regular starter.

@chilternrailway @SPG_2023 Can you expand on "industry position" please. I've yet to find another train operator that's cancelled half its rush hour trains when it's obvious passenger numbers will remain the same.

@chilternrailway I've yet to find an operator that has cancelled half their rush hour trains and LNER and East Midlands are actually advising that if people have to travel they do so before midday. I'm not belittling the weather conditions but life has to go on and this is a massive over reaction

@chilternrailway Between 7am and 9am tomorrow you have just 6 trains running from HWY to MYB. There's normally 10. How does cramming the same number of people into fewer trains help anything? If you must cancel trains at least do it later in the day when it gets hotter.

@chilternrailway Why are there speed reductions between 7am and 9am when the temperature is forecast to be just 23c? And anyone who travels during those hours (with peak time fares) is doing so because they have to. Passenger numbers are unlikely to be affected by your request not to travel.

@chilternrailway @bicester_marcus It's barely 20c during the morning rush hour service. How does that warrant cancelling half the trains leaving the rest to be twice as busy!

@chilternrailway If this policy results in the trains being more crowded tomorrow than usual will you still repeat it on Wednesday and Thursday? Many of us that regularly use your service do so because we have to. Putting out a polite message asking us to stay at home isn't going to change that.

@chilternrailway Thanks for the detailed reply but as someone else said, with less trains running (from Bicester Village to MYB for example) won't the ones that do run be even busier than usual? If you want to reduce passenger numbers I suggest you have no trains at all stopping at BIT.
