Our latest study showed that it takes ⬇️ time to recover from a session of ISO than heavy weights training. Hence, coaches may use ISO during periods of ⬆️ volume sports training or when closing in to the competition to minimise fatigue.

BIODEX (or Dynamometer users) - I’m reaching out about Hip Flexion / Extension assessments in lying supine position. I can only seem to achieve 70-80deg ROM due to limitations of seat position & padding attached to the dyno arm. Pic attached for ref (this is not total Ext range)

NO DOPPLER? NO PROBLEM! Here in a recent paper we propose that in cuffs between 9-13 cm, use of 1.3x brachial systolic BP is a decent surrogate for 100% LOP. bSBP can be used for ~80% LOP whereas 100 mmHg is around 60%.

Pallof Presses. Why use them with athletes? Sometimes I slip them into a program. But now simply ask why? In this article I try and answer a few of those questions. https://t.co/TpijhCYNAV
"Knowledge of the specific velocity characteristics of key strength exercises is vital for using velocity to predict 1RM based off sub-maximal loads or understanding how close to failure an athlete may be in a lift."

"As our industry evolves, the best jobs in sport will go to those coaches who can work with a head coach to design learning environments that create maximal performance improvements the most efficiently."
