@CharnwoodStoves@RBKingston You live on the IoW, what do you know of @RBKingston? Why is Surbiton the worse place in UK for air pollution? We had >250µg/m³ PM2.5 in our bedrooms from neighbours woodburner. In RBK! We have dozens of “modern” stoves within 100m. 2/4
@NewForestSussed@newforestranger@NewForestNPA@LymoTweetUp I'm fine, the bite drew blood and my leg is a little bruised and swollen. Another couple of walkers witnessed the event and advised that I should report it to the police.
@mwt2008@RicardoAirQ Reading the Ricardo Emission Factors for Domestic Solid Fuels Project report Table 5.5 - PM2.5 emissions from a modern stove (dry wood) was measured at 131 g/GJ. Assuming low winds, this results in PM2.5 levels of ~1200 µg/m³ at a distance of 10m from the flue.
@Jayscarlett71@AJPendleton Not the only solution. The stove industry could stop producing products that produce toxic emissions that are measurable by neighbouring properties.
One person's 'busybodying behaviour' is another person's very understandable concerns about neighbours burning wood in urban areas and polluting the cold, still winter skies with deadly fine particles.
@CharnwoodStoves@asthmalunguk Thank you. In the meantime, can you share answers to the questions on this thread as I think if you're recommending eco design stoves for clean air you should be able to show:
- Their contribution to PM2.5 emissions
- Causation and not just correlation on displacement
