@Roto_Frank That pen is an absolute mess.
Other thought: Are we underrating Casey Mize?
2025: 140IP - 3.87 ERA, FIP-xFIP-xERA all between 3.66 and 3.97
2026 - 58IP - 2.95ERA, FIP-xFIP-xERA between 2.77 and 3.75
Older now, but tons of prospect hype. Feels like top 40 SP.
@Roto_Frank@iroundtrip_ Oh I get it, but at some point velocity becomes meaningless when he's shown effectiveness at 90, 92, 95, etc. At some point the track record for Woodruff and Brewers has to matter, and you just start him
@iroundtrip_@Roto_Frank Yeah. Fair point. But with tonight's start, I may now prefer it not be 2 start week this week and save 2 starts for next week.
Dude has career ERA near 3.00... underlying metrics support it, he's been fine with lower velocity for 100 IPs. He just needs to be started.
@Roto_Frank Debating how much to bid for him in my league. 10 team (28 man rosters).
Some comps:
Waldschmidt went for $65
Jordan Walker went for $254
I'm thinking like $87 for Marte?
@ESPN_BillC Its so strange. The conference that was by by far the best every year had one "bye week" and people freak out. They scheduled those bc reg ssn Ls matter. Thats exactly why the teams with toughest schedule want to take week off.
@barstoolsports This is definitely fake. Right? It said gane 1 was Sunday. That would mean a full week off for Cavs and more for Knicks. Also, they won't be playing Sunday. Fake click bait?
@CFBKings It makes me happy that 12% understand that 4 was perfect. Some people get it. I honestly would probably rather go back to zero, but 4 was great
@Roto_Frank@CBSScottWhite Nice. Thanks! Yeah locked in Chandler and Schultz. ChatGPT and Microsoft Co-Pilot each had Chandler and Schultz as well. Nobody likes Leiter, I love him too much apparently. So it's really pick two from Ritchie, Arrighetti, and Painter. Thanks for the input! Love the pod!
@CBSScottWhite@Roto_Frank Start 4 of 6 this week. H2H Weekly 5x5 Roto.
B. Chandler (vs STL, vs CIN)
N. Schultz (AT SD)
A. Painter (vs SF)
JR Ritchie (vs DET)
S. Arrighetti (AT BOS)
J. Leiter (vs NYY, AT DET)
Thoughts?
@MLBNow Looking at WAR ranks since start of 2023, a few contenders:
7. Jose Ramirez (just below MVP level guy)
11. William Contreras (consistent catcher)
18. Nico Hoerner (does it all, modern day Ben Zobrist)
Pitching
Logan Webb - 2nd in pitching WAR... 3.41 ERA, TONS of innings
@dfinlay740@wakeupbarstool@barstoolsports@RealCGriff Exactly. Like when your team doesn't need you to complete a pass in the 2nd half, just throw incompletions, he really steps up in those moments and does what they need. Believe Barkley has talked about how amazing he is at handing him the ball.
