Oscar DOB 1.6.16 Neutered male Freya DOB 15.12.13 Neutered Female Oscar and Freya have found themselves back in rescue after the sad passing of their mummy ❤️
Freya had been in her home for nearly 10 years and Oscar for about 7 and because of this we are looking to rehome them as a bonded pair as they really do love each other and having already lost their family, we think it’s important that they have each other 😢 Oscar is a small medium and the more confident of the two and never stops wagging his tail ❤️ He loves everyone and just wants to be loved and fussed, but that said he is not a needy dog and can also be left to play and cosy up with his best friend Freya. Freya is a little more shy until she knows you and quite often hangs back and lets Oscar steal the limelight, but she also loves a fuss and us a very gentle soul.
Both dogs are clean in the house, will happily use a crate and travel well in a car. I don’t think they have had many lead walks of late, but both walk nicely on a lead once they are settled. This adorable pair would suit many different homes, but we would like them to go to a quieter one and if there are any children, would prefer them to be older.
They have always lived in a home with a garden and we would prefer them to continue to live in this environment and they would make fabulous companions for an older person or couple. The stallion – a three-year-old skewbald trotter, 14hh – collapsed at Jubilee Bridge at around 3pm yesterday (Wednesday, June 5). RSPCA chief inspector Rob Melloy said: “The horse’s temperature was very high, and he was covered in rubs. He had been worked until he dropped. “This was an inexcusable act of cruelty. This person has let themselves, their family and of course this poor horse down, who undoubtedly suffered before he died. “We want to hear from anyone who knows who is responsible and are releasing CCTV images of him, with the horse, so that we can ensure this doesn’t happen again. Please contact the RSPCA on our special appeal line 0300 123 8018 or police on 101. “This incident is a very disappointing way to have started the Fair today, where there are so many examples of good horsemanship, and we know a lot of people will be upset to hear about this.”
Gypsy and Traveller representatives, Billy Welch and Bill Lloyd, have "condemned" the unidentified party responsible for the animal's death. "We are sickened and saddened by the cruelty that this person or persons have shown," they said. "We have no hesitation in asking anyone who has any knowledge of this awful event to cooperate fully with police and RSPCA in identifying whoever is responsible," they said. They urged anyone with relevant information to speak up for "the sake of justice and the fair's future". The RSPCA and other animal welfare charities will operate at Salt Tip Corner on Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 4pm, where help can be sought for any animal in need. @shivkkav No horse owner I know would treat a horse like this. Can’t believe verdict. No part of horse behaviour includes face punching, the horse has no idea what it’s being punished for.
