Today marks the 6th anniversary of @jk_rowling's remarkable and important essay about her "reasons for speaking out sex and gender issues."
It is powerful, personal—and undeniably courageous. It is as relevant today as when she wrote it.
Her experience is a case study in what happens if you challenge a rigid ideological orthodoxy. The backlash is immediate, relentless, and often vicious.
As she asked then, “So why am I doing this? Why speak up? Why not quietly do my research and keep my head down?”
I find inspiration in JK's consistent fight for the truth and her refusal to be intimidated and scared away by the online mob.

A young girl in Scotland who defended herself against migrants, only to be vilified by the media, has now been vindicated in court.
Those same migrants were found guilty of directing sexual remarks at the girls.
The British media owe her and her family an apology.
Peta Credlin dropping truth bombs on Sky News.
Biological men pumping themselves with drugs to “lactate” and feed babies?
This isn’t “inclusive” it’s reckless ideology trumping basic biology and infant safety.
Jasmine Sussex nailed it: the volume and quality aren’t the same, and asking questions about risks isn’t “vilification” it’s common sense.
We’re really debating whether drug induced fake milk is good for newborns?

Biology isn’t bigotry.
For centuries the bird at the centre of a British Christmas was the goose. Then an American import quietly took its place.
The goose made sense on this land. It fattened on stubble and grass, needed no grain to speak of, and gave you a rich dark meat and a basin of the finest cooking fat you would see all year. The poor paid for theirs through a goose club, a few pence a week into the pub or the corner shop all autumn, so a bird would be waiting in December. From Norfolk, whole flocks were walked to the London markets on foot, the better part of a hundred miles, their feet driven through warm tar and then grit to give them boots for the road.
When Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol in 1843, the Cratchits sat down to a goose. The turkey was the luxury bird, the extravagance a reformed Scrooge sends round at the end because it was twice the size and cost a small fortune.
Within a century the positions had swapped. The turkey was bigger and blander, it fed more from one carcass, and once intensive farming made it cheap after the war it simply won. We gave up a fatty, self-feeding bird for a lean, grain-fed one prized mainly for being large. By the time most of us were born the turkey was just what Christmas was, and the goose had become a thing your great-grandmother mentioned.
A bigger bird that tastes of less, chosen because it goes further.
You can read the whole history of modern British food in that one swap. The richer thing, raised on the land for nothing, set aside for the larger, plainer thing that suits a crowd and a supermarket.
The goose is still out there. It still fattens on grass. We just stopped saving up for it.
Hampshire police were planning to smear Henry Nowak as an “aggressive racist” three days after he was murdered.
According to the UK’s Sunday Times, police planned to issue a slightly deconstructed version of events allegedly designed to save face by defaming the 18-year-old.
The Times, which broke the exclusive, said the drafted “intervention was a highly unusual move.”
“Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary sought to release a public statement to address what it described as online ‘disinformation’.
“However,” The Times added, “the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) advised the force that such a step could risk jeopardising the ‘integrity’ of the case.”
They pulled the claims after strong protests from Nowak’s family.
This new information, The Times said, was “likely to put further pressure on the beleaguered force and its chief constable, Alexis Boon, because the conduct of its own officers was under scrutiny during the trial.”
Bring on the reckoning!
The apparent cover-up adds to the criminal Critical Race Theory’s (CRT) — only white people can be racists — “implicit bias” training, which contributed to Henry’s false arrest, and subsequent death.
Police planned to run with the “he’s a rabid racist” falsehood, knowing full well there was “ample evidence” proving that Nowak’s Sikh killer, Vickrum Digwa, and his family were lying about being racially abused.
The apparent woke plan to misdirect attention away from police, and the Sikh community, would have succeeded had the Nowak family not noticed the lie being spun about their son.

A few days ago, my life changed completely as we welcomed our beautiful baby boy into the world.
Looking into his loving, innocent eyes, I have never felt more resolute about the importance of keeping children safe.
I look forward to getting back to work with renewed vigour.
This is Callum Peacock. He battered his girlfriend with a golf club, threw bleach and paint at her, and burned a memorial shirt of her deceased grandmother but has avoided an immediate prison sentence.
The 19-year-old defendant, from St Helens, subjected his partner to a cruel three-hour ordeal inside their home.
Police officers arrived at the flat to find the victim covered in white paint and curled up in a ball on the bathroom floor.
She was audibly sobbing and shrieking through a hole in the door, which was still smouldering and smoking.
During the assault, the teenager hit her with a broom handle and a golf club before putting her in a chokehold from behind.
When she tried to hide in the bathroom, he smashed the door with the golf club and used an aerosol and a lighter to set fire to it.
He then threw dumbbells and a bottle of bleach at her, causing the liquid to splash onto her body.
In what was described in court as an extremely selfish act, he took hold of a memorial t-shirt featuring a photograph of her deceased grandmother.
He set fire to the garment right in front of her while telling her that her nan would rot in hell.
The attack came just two days after another incident where he struck his girlfriend with a hammer following an argument.
Following his arrest, he openly threatened his victim in front of police officers, stating that he was going to smash her face in when he got out.
But he has now walked free from court after a judge handed him an 18-month imprisonment suspended for 18 months.
The court heard he had already spent nearly five months in custody on remand, which the judge noted was the equivalent of a nine-month sentence for a teenager with no previous convictions.
He was also given a five-year restraining order and a rehabilitation activity requirement of up to 20 days.
Another kick in the teeth, metaphorically speaking to the brave young woman who endured his cowardly attacks.
The justice in this country cares more about the accused than the victims.
When men attempt to breastfeed a child in this manner, they are involving an INFANT in their sexual fetish.
Not a soul on Earth can convince me otherwise.
This really worries me
A month ago in Wales I suffered a ruptured aneurysm in my abdomen. I lost over 2 units of blood
But the Welsh ambulance service refused to send an ambulance. I was still breathing so apparently didn't need one
I spent 7 hours lying on the ground in a car park. Every time I moved I threw up from the pain. The owners of the car park called 999 6x
One of the people there was a fireman. He couldn't believe that 999 treated each call as a separate incident and couldn't see the details or link to previous calls. He was frustrated because they could see I was seriously ill but you can't see internal bleeding and so there was no way to persuade 999 that it actually was an emergency
Eventually my husband arrived by taxi, journey of more than 3 hours from our home
He gave me my pain meds (the car park people were worried about liability and I was too ill to get them myself). This meant I was able to crawl into the car and he drove me to A&E
He got me into a wheelchair. We waited 75 minutes to see a doctor. I was shivering, heaped with blankets and threw up all over the floor
As soon as a doctor looked at me I was taken straight to resus. The next day I was transfered by blue light ambulance to another hospital, had a blood transfusion and spent 5 days on the high dependency unit
If my husband hadn't been able to come and look after me I have no idea how I would have survived. As it was I nearly didn't
I would not have been able to get myself to hospital nor would I have been able to log into some digital triage system
This scheme seems to assume if you're seriously ill you'll arrive by ambulance and if not you're well enough to navigate a digital portal
My experience suggests that's a dangerous assumption
A week later, back home in England I had another ruptured aneurysm. This time an ambulance came in 2 hours and again I was taken straight to resus
It wasn't the same because I had a recent diagnosis of a ruptured aneurysm so we could tell 999 I was almost certainly bleeding internally. But I was too ill to get myself down the stairs and out to the car. We still needed that ambulance and I still wouldn't have been able to fiddle around with an ipad
Proper triage REQUIRES an actual doctor to look at the patient. It takes a matter of minutes to differentiate between a life threatening emergency and not a life threatening emergency. That's not minutes to get a diagnosis but to know that the person is stable or not stable and if not that needs immediate attention
Seriously ill people can't do it themselves. It doesn't matter how smart or articulate they are normally. Or how tough. Expecting people to manage their own emergency care isn't what a modern health service should do

Them:
“Trans women are women! OK, maybe they are not ‘gametic female’ but they look like women and act like women and people treat them like women.”
Also them:
“ParkRun is not a competition. OK, it looks like a competition and acts like a competition and people treat it like a competition, but it’s not a ‘gametic competition’.”
Last year, a video went viral of a scared, 12 year old girl in Dundee.
She was waving weapons, shouting at a migrant to leave her alone.
Almost immediately, many on the left were calling this girl a liar (and worse). They were saying the “far-right” were whipping up ‘anti-migrant hate’.
People like @HumzaYousaf & many more called it ‘bullsh*t’.
Many, including people like @jdpoc while calling her a liar & talking about her ‘hatred’, showed pictures of the little girl. Just to make sure everyone knew who the ‘liar’ they were talking about, was.
A fundraiser for the girl was mocked, suggesting she’d use the money to buy “machetes and IronBru”
She was a child. Their posts were seen by hundreds of thousands of people.
She wasn’t ‘hate-filled’, she was scared.
Yesterday, her version of events was proven to be true. She was sexually harassed by a migrant and another child physically assaulted too.
The man and his sister were prosecuted.
How shameful that children need to arm themselves for protection.
How shameful that adults will deny their reality.
How shameful that some people are so desperate to defend migration into this country, that they will literally mock children who are victims of their crimes.
Shame on you all.
I’ll be fascinated to see how many of you publicly apologise to the girl, in the same public way that you called her a liar.
I won’t hold my breath…
I hope this girl is ok.

🚨 STOP BLAMING THE PEOPLE
Reverend Chris Wickland has a message for Britain's politicians:
"Stop being so blind that you can't see it's your policies that created this crisis."
While politicians continue talking about "far-right violence", growing numbers of people are asking a different question:
Why are the concerns that sparked the anger still being ignored?
The public is demanding answers.
Westminster is still demanding silence.
And the gap between the two is getting wider.

UK GOVERNMENT SACKED ITS OWN BORDER WATCHDOG
David Neal was the man the government hired to inspect UK borders and make sure they actually worked. He did exactly that. What he found was not good. He wrote it all up in official reports. The Home Office locked those reports in a drawer.
When he finally went to a newspaper to warn the public that private planes were landing in the UK with almost nobody checking who was on them, the Home Secretary James Cleverly @JamesCleverly fired him.
Here is what Neal actually found.
At London City Airport, only 21% of flights flagged as high risk were checked by immigration officers.
Not some of the time. As a yearly average.
He said it was a scandal and dangerous for the country.
The Home Office said he had the numbers wrong. Then they fired him.
At the moment he was sacked, the @HomeOffice was holding back 15 of his finished inspection reports. Some had been sitting there for 18 months without being shown to the public.
The agreed deadline for publishing them was eight weeks. Not one report met that deadline across his entire three years in the job.
When they finally released 13 of the reports, they chose to do it on the same afternoon that a separate major inquiry published its findings... Draw your own conclusions.
What was actually in those reports? Border control posts left with nobody manning them. Officers at e-passport gates described as distracted and without basic radios. The whole airport border operation rated as neither effective nor efficient.
Neal told MPs directly: I have been sacked for doing my job.
He also told @BBC the Home Office is dysfunctional and described senior officials rolling their eyes when he brought them his findings.
He said the government contacted him three separate times warning him not to speak publicly about the unpublished reports.
He had almost no other way to get the information out.
The people who fired him for raising border security concerns were the same people who spent years promising the public they had taken back control of the borders.

This is a person who may leave the UK before the Parliamentary term ends and who lied about his background.
He now thinks he can make laws for people who were born here and have lived here for decades by putting women at risk.
Q Manivannan and the Greens are out of step with public opinion.
Instead of listening to 51% of the population, they have decided to cater to 0.5%.
But let’s not forget that the SNP and Greens refuse to drop Nicola Sturgeon’s dangerous gender self-ID policies.
The Supreme Court made it clear that 'sex' refers to biological sex.
It's time Q Manivannan, the Greens and the SNP followed the law.

The former President of the ICJ just destroyed the “Israel is committing genocide” lie.
Joan Donoghue (who presided over the South Africa v. Israel case) on Hardtalk:
“It didn’t decide that the claim of genocide was plausible… The shorthand that often appears… isn’t what the court decided.”
The Court only said Palestinians have plausible rights to be protected from genocide. It made no finding that Israel was plausibly committing genocide.
Watch her say it herself. The media and activists have been misrepresenting this and lying for 18+ months.
Remember girls given testosterone during their youth in the 70s & 80s for illegal sporting advantage have all struggled with their health, several died very young, many had disabled children. We don’t need more experiments. Do NO harm.
Remember, every person who says they are disgusted by the Supreme Court judgment is admitting that:
They’re disgusted that female sexual assault survivors might meet in a support group to open up about their trauma, without men being present.
They’re disgusted that lesbians can socialise exclusively with other lesbians, without men being present.
They’re disgusted by new mothers gathering together to discuss breastfeeding or post partum problems, without men being present.
They’re disgusted that girls can play sport with other girls and shower, change and dress, without boys being present.
They’re disgusted that organisations - which realise they are too male dominated - can’t fill any female quotas with other men.
They’re disgusted that vulnerable female prisoners and arrestees can’t be searched by men or kept in a cell with other men.
They’re disgusted that women can have their own things.
They’re disgusted by the Equality Act 2010.
They’re disgusted by the law.
Isn’t that disgusting?
Wool grows back every year on grass and rain. It warms you better than plastic and feeds the soil when it wears out. We let the trade collapse anyway.
Here is how anyone, anywhere, can help bring it back.
- Read the label. Most "fleece" is plastic. Choose real wool.
- Buy your bed back from oil. Wool duvets breathe, resist fire, and outlast synthetics by decades.
- Put wool underfoot. A wool carpet lasts a generation. Nylon sheds microplastic with every step.
- Insulate with it. Sheep's wool beats foam, and foam is just oil.
- Buy close to the animal. Straight from farms keeps the money with the shearer.
- Compost the old stuff. A wool jumper rots back into the ground. Polyester outlives your grandchildren.
- Back it where the big orders are. Hotels, uniforms, fire rules. They could all specify wool tomorrow.
- Learn the craft. Knit, weave, felt. Every stitch is a vote.
This belongs to no one country. Merino off an Australian ewe, Rambouillet from the American west, Shetland, Harris Tweed. Half the world's wool sits unloved while we dress in oil.
None of this needs a hashtag. Just ordinary choices, made on purpose.
The sheep have done their part for ten thousand years. The rest is us, reading the label.
