Tennessee, down by 9, 2nd and goal at the 1 with 9 seconds on the game clock. BDS crowd is rocking. Cue Sean McDonough.
“If they don’t score the half’s over.”
The snap.
“And it’s a play action pass, and it’s intercepted!”
Crowd pop No. 1
“Zabien Brown with one man who can catch him.”
Crowd pop No. 2
Zabien Brown all the way! Touchdown Alabama!”
Goose bumps just thinking about it.
Who called it best, McDonough or “Oh Mercy” Chris Stewart?
@CPhilly19 Yes but, unfortunately for me I won’t be there to see it. Vandy is unwatchable. I’d rather grind my nails on a chalkboard than sit through nine innings of ear-piercing nonsense.
With the intro for Jabe Boroff, you just knew he was going to go deep again. His 4th homer of the Regional from a player batting .137 just three weeks ago. 🔥Troy extends the lead to 8 over Florida.
@RichardZane32 Agreed. It’s not like the Regionals are a Saturday pool play where you have to be at some neutral site park for a 9 am first pitch to figure out rankings.
So clutch. Also, it’s an outright injustice Brady Neal’s 3-run homer wasn’t a walk-off. Regional hosts should never be the visitor in their own ballparks.
Brady Neal delivers a three-run blast in the 11th to break a 6-6 tie, and Hagan Banks gets the final three outs for a win that sends Alabama to the Super Regional, where the Tide will host either FSU or St. John’s. On a side note, host teams should never be the visitors in their own ballparks, but that’s college baseball.
UCLA faces Virginia Tech’s five-man infield defense and gets a walk-off hit from Phoenix Call to cap a three-run bottom of the 9th to keep their season alive.
