For us, the risk isn't hospitalization and death (though underlying conditions are an issue), but if our family gets it, it could take us out of work + school for 1+ months for quarantines etc.
@BrianLehrer re: mask mandates. I had a business trip scheduled to the west coast. Once the mandates were removed, I googled:
1) the risk of being on a plane w/o total masking
2) whether any airlines were keeping a mask requirement (they're not)
...and decided to cancel the trip.
It’s not a ton of money, but it feels violating to be taken advantage of like this and not have any recourse, especially since part of the benefit of the EasyPay card is supposed to be protecting you from situations like this. I only found out because I got a bill.
@MTA Hey. I just found out I had lost my EasyPay metrocard in December, and someone has been racking up charges. I usually bike, so I rarely take the subway and hadn’t noticed my card missing. Terms say I’m on the hook unless I report it lost, but I only now found out.
@tonybgoode That day the phones were going straight to a pre-recorded message saying to email them. I got them on Twitter though, and the bike is back :) problem solved.
@CitiBikeNYC Okay I’m calling it, no support is responding. I’m going to hold onto the bike so it doesn’t get picked up by someone else and lost in the city somewhere.
@CitiBikeNYC I’m back at the station and (luckily) the bike is still here. But what should I do while I’m waiting for support to email back? It’s cold out here.⛄️
