- We estimate NOx emissions from 130 individual ships over the Mediterranean in 2019 using TROPOMI NO2 columns
- Emission factors of newer Tier II ships are higher than of older Tier I ships
- Emission factors of Tier II ships are highest at low engine loads

We measured 10 vertical #no2 profiles with an aircraft over the North Sea and compared them to several modelled profiles, including #TM5.

To make our profiles representative at TROPOMI pixel scale, we combined them with zigzag flights, measuring the horizontal distribution of ship plumes as seen in the animation.
