With Helios drone spray today to apply some Nexta Spark on some R64 wheat for trial work. Spark works by reducing heat stress at flowering for approx 14 days by supplementing cytokinin hormone that is degraded at high temps. Going to have a number of trials in Kent and Essex
Touring some demo trials today. Pretty evident how much benefit a good herbicide residual program brings regardless of soybean trait system. Pick the right product for your weeds you’re dealing with and look to rotate modes of action. @PioneerSeedsCA
Out scouting corn plots and using my favourite toy to take some stand counts. Amazing that I can fly a 50ac field in under 10 minutes and gather this kind of info. Outside of the plot was planted a few days ahead of plot. Note the height change of the corn @PioneerSeedsCA
With the recent rain and slower emergence I was getting lots of questions around seed treatments and soybean seedling diseases. I found this video on the crop protection network and it does a great job of outlining what to consider. https://t.co/k038mTPy77
Out evaluating some emergence notes on new corn products. This field had a heavy population of dandelion that over wintered. The grower used glyphosate and 101ml/ac of Lontrel. Lontrel is also great on thistles, ragweeds, fleabane and more! @CortevaCA@PioneerSeedsCA
Out today with my new drone and doing some stand counts in a corn plot we planted April 23. Pretty amazing technology and the couple spots that I ground truthed are close. It should at least give an idea where the poor/good spots area vs walking the whole field. @PioneerSeedsCA
Planting plots is a whole lot easier with a set up like this and lots of help! Getting a mix of some current and new varieties. Also, as an added bonus of a couple entries with and without our biological product Fortified Stimulate. @PioneerSeedsCA@CortevaCA
A great Enlist E3 soybean plot with Leo Guilbeault deserves a great soybean herbicide program. A little Enlist 1 plus some Diligent for a residual program should keep this plot looking sharp all year long. @PioneerSeedsCA@langer_00
Another corn plot in the books. A nice mix of current standards vs the new prospects coming for 2026. Even snuck in a biological strip with Fortified Stimulate. With the nights cooler temps the ground was warmer than expected. @PioneerSeedsCA@CortevaCA
Looking at some herbicide demo sites today. We’ve suggested all winter to use a good residual program with your soybean acre. Have a look at Canopy Pro + Enlist Duo vs just Enlist duo alone. Duo will give some residual but not enough for a full season. @CortevaCA
@DonLunn@pioneertim@CortevaCA In general very good efficacy. The better the plant is growing the better the results. When we’ve done Enlist 1 applications with Liberty in high heat, high humidity, high sun etc when Liberty works best it hasn’t compromised efficacy.
I’ve been getting lots of questions about spraying Enlist chemistries given the high temperatures this week. Short answer is go ahead. We have no temperature restrictions on our label and your beans are highly tolerant. For more information listen to the video @CortevaCA
