It was a great event to attend and to witness how things could be different by using the river more and more.

We were delighted to attend the London Light Freight River Trial launch this morning on the Thames at Bankside Pier. Hosted by the @CrossRiverPship, which forms part of the Defra-funded Clean Air Logistics for London project.

It is London's first daily, multi-supplier river freight trial on the Thames, using the @thamesclippers Logistics vessel, and also includes return deliveries, whereby the freight is then moved onto cargo bikes for the last mile delivery.

@DHLParcelUK operate a similar type of delivery service from the same pier.

Big thanks to the Cross River Partnership for the demonstration, it shows how light freight can use the river and we encourage more of this in the future.
