@scoutingindoors Seems the PSR and HG rules have combined to create the perfect (youth) storm, clubs are poaching the top u16 talent at an alarming scale and offering them frankly sickening financial packages, all because a pure profit sale somewhere down the line will be high accounting reward.
@7Erzil Context is important though, Tzolis is never intended to fill the WC LW role you mentioned, he’s a squad player with squad player value and resale potential.
Gyokeres the same, an opportunity to spend less in a market where insane amounts of money’s flying about.
@football_pb No less out of form than those selected, 16, came off with a niggle at the weekend, just back from a lay off, only just got his first minutes with a painful ‘load’ based injury. I get the argument with this front 3 but it’s not like we’re blessed with alternatives tonight
@HarveyDiamonds With Eze coming off with a niggle at the weekend and only just back from injury, and Saka getting his first minutes in a while at the weekend too, isn’t it right for them not to be starting? I guess Trossard is a candidate but his form isn’t any better than those starting.
@Gunner2Jasper Every title winning team has atleast one inevitable attacker who stays fit and drags their team over the line, it’s really that simple imo. Salah, haaland, Mahrez, KDB, Vardy, Mane, Aguero, Sterling.. list is endless
@thebottomcorna Every title winning side has atleast 1 player who were unstoppable throughout the season, Salah, KDB, Mahrez, Haaland, RVP (Man U), Henry, Pires... Arsenal just haven’t had that this season and the ones who come close are more defensive minded.
@scoutingindoors Most youth posts I see about individuals who’re a part of the youth set up at Arsenal, have comments under them asking the OP to compare them to Dowman. Dowman should be celebrated throughout the entire system at Arsenal, not used as some unfair yardstick or comparison!
@football_pb I think he’ll always be a player who needs conservative minutes management. He was over played Sep-Dec ish. His career games per season is understandable low considering the horror injury.
@football_pb His body language in game backs this up, he appears to be constantly insisting to have the ball, always gestures to receive, if he doesn’t receive he gets visibly frustrated, when the balls in other areas he’s always demanding it to be rotated towards him.
@YouAreMyArsenal My biggest concern is the apparent nonchalance, reminds me of both Azeez and Patino in that respect, fine players who seemed to stunt in development. The goal conceded v Inter was an alarming example of MLS’s issues for me
@AFCAMDEN The writing was on the wall back end of last season, the unpredictability of his play is no longer there, the rolling of the shoulder, turning out of pressure, the foul winning, once analysts and players figure that out, you’re in trouble. He’ll be fine, he just needs to evolve.
@jeorgebird At the end of the day a lot has been said about our need to bring in players to make our youth teams more rounded with talent, but it’s not a lack of talent that’s left Arsenal that far adrift in the UYL.
@footyspeakerbox Arteta seems to demand a lot of the press, especially in central areas like the striker and no. 10, especially tactically. I think that’s why he’s currently preferring Merino in the larger, ‘must win’ games over Ethan or Eze.
@HarveyDiamonds My only apprehension was harmony and chemistry especially with regards to how we play, with so many changes. It’s rare to see a team lift major silverware after such a squad overhaul right?
@HarveyDiamonds If we retain all key players, resign Saka and Saliba along with the earlier contracts, an unprecedented upgrade on all positions in the squad. The squads now been put in a place where future windows should only be for stars. Just need the last few sales to make it 💥
