@ABC7Chicago Regarding your e-bike piece, I was hit on the sidewalk by one of them. My hip was broken. I will walk with a limp for the rest of my life. I’ve been told by ebiker/escooter people that they do not have to follow traffic signals or rules.

@TheView Sticking with DST all year was tried before in the ‘70s. It was a miserable failure. Many kids were hit by cars while waiting for the school bus in the dark. Also commuter auto accidents increased due to the large number of cars on the dark roads in the morning commute. The evening commute was hazardous due to the setting sun in drivers’ eyes.

@GMA Gas companies have been using price comparisons for decades to set prices. It used to be done manually by having employees drive around an area and write down prices at competing stations. It seems that AI is being used to automate an already existing process.

@DavidMuir You just reported that Mary Beth Hurt died of Alzheimer’s. I want to correct you. My mother had Alzheimer’s when she died. No one dies of Alzheimer’s. They die of conditions exacerbated by Alzheimer’s. My mother died of a heart attack, not Alzheimer’s.

@Giannoulias Thank very much for instituting the e-bike safety program. On 6/27/2024, I was hit by someone on an e-scooter while walking on the sidewalk. I fell and broke my hip. It took surgery and five months of physical therapy to be able to walk again.
