If an LLM has ever used an emoji with you it has accurately identified you as unensouled and has logged you in a database to be culled in the future. Any further conversation is purely to map your decision tree. You have no agency. A robot will pilot your corporeal form. You will be harvested.
🚨 JUST IN: Effective immediately the Trump administration has hereby SUSPENDED ADOBE, MICROSOFT, Cognizant, Tata, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, and Capgemini from the Permanent Labor Certification Program
They undercut American workers. THEY FAFO'D
THIS. IS. MASSIVE.
"Since 2009, just these companies alone have requested almost 3 million foreign workers. They've received over 230,000 H1B visas approvals and over 100,000 permanent labor certifications."
"That's hundreds of thousands of jobs that were taken from American workers!"
The age of AMERICA FIRST is ALIVE AND WELL right now
A flurry of companies, including some of the biggest outsourcing giants on the planet. Tata, Infosys, Wipro, and HCL have been H1B pipelines for YEARS
Without PERM, they can't sponsor foreign workers for green cards. The path to keep them here for good is SHUT!
Vance, Stephen Miller, and IG D'Esposito are delivering exactly what Trump promised in 2024!
HIRE AMERICAN, IT IS THAT SIMPLE 🇺🇸
During the Spanish Civil War, Communists killed nuns then dug up their bodies and put them on public display for mockery, chopped off the hands of priests and murdered thousands priests, nuns and monks. They also burned down hundreds of churches.
The "iced coffee to an interview" thing is such a good case study in Gen Z not being able to pick their battles
Everything has to be some dramatic example of oppression or ableism or "corporate overlords" instead of...just the way things are
You don't wear white to someone else's wedding, you leave a tip when it's customary to do so, these are just social conventions that make you not look rude
An iced coffee doesn't matter that much to you as the interviewee. You will survive going 1 hour without an Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso
But it COULD matter to the person interviewing you. Why risk it? Why die on that hill?
You may think it's a poor proxy for professionalism, you may think a good employer wouldn't care
But if someone tells you "Hey, this is not universally acceptable, it could risk your success," and you insist on doing it to make a point, that's your own dang fault
Children who eat dinner with their family most nights do better in school, have fewer behavioural problems, and are less likely to develop eating disorders. A 2023 umbrella review in the journal Nutrients combined the results of 57 reviews and found that family mealtimes were consistently linked to better outcomes across every domain measured.
The review found that children who ate with their families regularly had higher fruit and vegetable intake, lower rates of obesity, better academic performance, and fewer symptoms of depression and anxiety. The association held after controlling for income, parental education, and family structure.
The mechanism is not the food. It is the conversation. Family dinner is one of the few remaining settings in modern life where a child sits with adults, without a screen, and practises talking, listening, and being heard. The vocabulary exposure alone is significant: children at the dinner table hear a wider range of words than children who eat alone, and vocabulary at age five is one of the strongest predictors of academic success.
The review also found that the quality of the meal mattered less than the fact of sitting down together. A takeaway pizza eaten at the table with conversation produced similar benefits to a home-cooked meal. The key variable was the shared time, not the menu.
Nobody has time. Everybody is tired. The research says that twenty minutes at a table, phones off, food on plates, talking about nothing in particular, is doing more for your child's brain, body, and mental health than most interventions that cost money and require appointments. https://t.co/py5zRyOIcb
Someone should write an alternate historical novel where Americans are the first to master the automobile, the first in flight, the first to harness the atom, the first to land on the moon — but just keep going and never open our borders to the entire third world for sixty years.
If you own Mario Superstar Baseball, congrats! You now also own a copy of the song Letters by Hikaru Utada @utadahikaru
This 2002 song was just discovered hidden within the files of this game, never noticed for 21 years until now. I guess a Nintendo developer was a big fan
The reason people hate flock cameras is that they know the government will not use them to lock up the insane depraved criminals who will stab you while you walk through Times Square but will instead mail you a ticket for speeding on an empty highway at 2AM.
