Ignore the noise of any alternative to Mr. Peter Obi. He is not a candidate who wins through monetized primaries or backroom deals. Some people are parading an outdated CV of someone who came second in monetized, uninspiring APC primaries, but that will never capture the hearts of sincere, forward-thinking Nigerians as we approach the 2027 elections.

Peter Obi is far more than a politician who can inspire the youth and win votes. He is the right leader to rebuild our nation from the ground up.

He will drastically reduce the obscene cost of governance.
He will lead with genuine compassion and empathy.
He will forge true national unity that delivers shared prosperity.

This unity will bring the peace we desperately need and ensure every citizen, regardless of tribe, faith, or background, feels a real sense of belonging.

Above all, we need a humble servant-leader: someone who sees power as an opportunity to serve the people, not an arrogant politician ready to exploit our vulnerabilities and weaknesses for personal gain.

New Year: A Call for Unity, Truth, Sacrifice, and National Renewal

As we enter the New Year, let it symbolize a genuine new beginning for our nation—a time for sober reflection and renewed determination. May this be the year we take our democracy seriously, not just as a ritual of elections, but as a daily commitment to unity, justice, accountability, compassion, and the rule of law. Let it signal the start of a true rebirth for Nigeria, a year when we gather the courage to confront our shortcomings honestly and begin to build a broad national consensus based on integrity, fairness, and shared sacrifice.

We call on those in positions of authority to rediscover the sacred duty of truth-telling—about their backgrounds, intentions, policies, actions, and even their health. Leadership thrives on trust, and trust is only possible with honesty. Let this year be one where public office is seen as a solemn call to service rather than a platform for personal enrichment, and where public resources are managed with transparency, discipline, and a deep sense of responsibility to both current and future generations.

May this New Year also be a time for compassion and sacrifice, where we consciously put the needs of the poor, the weak, and the forgotten at the center of our national conscience. A nation is not defined by the grandeur of its celebrations but by the dignity of life it offers its citizens. Therefore, let us prioritize a better standard of living over elaborate funerals; let us invest more in hospitals than in hearses, more in schools than in slogans, and more in jobs and productivity than in extravagance and waste.

Above all, may this year renew our collective resolve to create a Nigeria that truly works for all—just in its laws, productive in its economy, united in its diversity, and humane in its treatment of every citizen.

My dearest Obidient Family,

I want you to pause for a moment and remember why we started.

We didn’t join this movement because it was easy.
We didn’t stand under the sun, rain, and teargas because we were promised comfort.
We didn’t risk jobs, friendships, and even our lives because we were guaranteed instant victory.

We came because we looked at Nigeria and said: “This suffering is not normal. This darkness is not our portion. Our children deserve better.”

We saw a man, @PeterObi who was willing to leave the comfort of his home, sacrifice his peace, risk his family’s safety, and stand in the gap for a New Nigeria. A man of competence, capacity, character and compassion. That kind of leadership doesn't come every day.

Yes, the road has been rough.
Yes, some things have not moved at the pace we expected.
Yes, we’ve been betrayed, mocked, blocked, and discouraged on every side.

But tell me, since when did freedom come cheap?
They killed our brothers during EndSARS.
They jailed our sisters for speaking truth.
They tore our mandates in broad daylight.
Many of us lost businesses, jobs, relationships… just for wearing this badge of hope.

After all that sacrifice, shall we now walk away because things got harder?
Shall we abandon the dream because the journey is longer than we thought?
Shall we betray those who died carrying this flag, just because we are tired?

No. A thousand times NO.

This is not the time to resign.
This is the time to RE-SIGN.
Re-commit. Re-organise. Re-energise.

The Obidient family is not a political party.
It is a covenant.
It is a promise we made to ourselves, to our children, and to the souls that have gone ahead of us.

If Service is the motive Turning the Tide in Four Years is Possible

I still find it baffling that my decision to do a term of four years, if given the mandate to rule this country, is generating so much agitation. By this feeling, we are doubting the fact that a sincere leader can achieve much in 48 months.

I have never been desperate in the pursuit of power, or anything else, for that matter. There are some traits associated with desperation, which in no way are in any of my political behaviours in the past and now, like engaging in overly aggressive rhetoric or actions to prove a point or gain attention; becoming overly defensive or reactive to criticism, often to the point of appearing paranoid.
Making unrealistic or unfulfillable promises to win support or approval, resorting to personal attacks or character assassination to discredit opponents or frequently changing positions or policies to suit immediate political needs.

What drives me is not personal ambition, but a deep, commitment to see Nigeria work. And if the sacrifice required of me is four years of sincere, accountable leadership, so be it.

Throughout my political journey, I have never been involved in thuggery, the snatching of ballot boxes, or any form of electoral malpractice. I challenge anyone: conduct your investigations. You will find no stains of rigging or violence associated with my name. I have always chosen the path of peace, principle, and civility.

Ask those who have contested against me—none were ever denied their rights, framed, or falsely accused. None was asked to place their advert materials or break the bank to do so. I believe in fair competition, not manufactured victories.

In four years we can confront corruption head-on, redirecting resources to priority areas. For instance, the trillions used to acquire new presidential jets and other unnecessary expenses at this time could have been channelled into education, healthcare, or infrastructure.

Within the same period, we ensure that the rule is sacrosanct and the rule of law is strictly followed.
Within the same period, we can conduct free, fair and credible elections

Leadership, to me, is not about entitlement. It is about service. If given the mandate, for just one term, I will dedicate every moment to building a Nigeria that works for all. -PO

My One-Term, Four-Year Vow Is Sacrosanct

One of the greatest American Presidents, Abraham Lincoln, served only four years, yet his legacy endures as a model of principled leadership. Another iconic figure, John F. Kennedy, did not even complete a full term, yet his vision and ideals continue to inspire generations. In Africa, Nelson Mandela, revered globally as a symbol of justice and reconciliation, chose to serve only one term as President of South Africa, despite immense public pressure to stay longer. His decision was a deliberate act of leadership, a statement that power must serve the people, not the self. Indeed, history shows that the longer many African leaders remain in power, the more likely they are to be corrupted by it. Longevity in office is not a mark of success; rather, it is purposeful, accountable service - however brief - that defines true statesmanship.

It is within this context that I reiterate my vow: I will serve only one term of four years if elected President. And that vow is sacrosanct.

I am fully aware that the decay in our society has made trust one of the scarcest and most sceptically viewed commodities. Many Nigerians, understandably, no longer take politicians at their word. But even in this climate of cynicism, there are still a few whose actions have matched their words - whose integrity is built on verifiable precedent.

Recently, I became aware of two statements aimed, albeit indirectly, at my vow to serve only a single four-year term. One person remarked that even if I swore by a shrine, I still wouldn’t be believed. Another suggested that anyone talking about doing only one term should undergo psychiatric evaluation.

I understand the basis of their scepticism. They are judging me by their own standards - where political promises are made to be broken. But they forget, or perhaps choose to ignore, that Peter Obi is not cut from that cloth. I have a verifiable track record that speaks louder than speculation.

In my political life, my word is my bond. When I entered politics in Anambra State, I made clear and measurable promises to the people: to improve education and healthcare, to open up rural areas through road construction, and to manage public funds with prudence. I fulfilled each of those promises without deviation. I did not swear by a shrine, nor have I been certified mentally unstable as a result of honouring my word.

My vow to serve only one term of four years is a solemn commitment, rooted in my conviction that purposeful, transparent leadership does not require an eternity.

If making such a promise qualifies me for psychiatric evaluation, then we may as well question the mental fitness of those who framed our Constitution, which clearly stipulates a four-year renewable tenure.

I maintain without equivocation: if elected, I will not spend a day longer than four years in office. In fact, I believe that service should be impactful, not eternal.

We must rebuild trust in our country. I have dedicated my public life to demonstrating that leadership with integrity is not a myth. I have done it before, and I do not intend to betray that trust under any circumstances.

Forty-eight months is enough for any leader who is focused and prepared to make a meaningful difference. In that time, I intend not merely to make an impression, but to deliver on concrete promises to:

sanitise our governance system;
tackle insecurity through effective and accountable use of national resources; prioritise education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation;
catalyse small businesses as engines of growth ; and combat corruption with unflinching resolve.

Above all, I will dedicate myself to transforming Nigeria from a consuming nation into a productive one, where agriculture, technology, and manufacturing replace rent-seeking and waste as our national anchors.

These are not utopian dreams. They are realistic, actionable goals that are achievable within four years.
