Before entering the banquet hall, an ancient host would anoint the honoured guests with perfumed oil. The overflowing "cup" symbolizes the care and provisions of the good shepherd.

One of the greatest benefits of being a part of the family of God is we are never alone.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace.

All are invited to join us at Christ Church, Waltham Cross for our 10am Service tomorrow - Sunday 3 July. This will be Christ Church's "Farewell" to Revd Debbie. There be rousing hymn singing, Holy Communion, and refreshments with lot's of cake afterwards!
Keep watch dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; all for your love’s sake.
The hope of glory fulfils God's promise to restore us and all creation". This hope is not a wishful thought but the confident, expectant, joyful knowledge that we are being changed by God and will one day see Christ face to face, having been conformed to His image.
One of the tragic ironies of our day is the more “connected” we have become digitally, the more lonely we feel relationally.
If you feel lonely, here are three steps to take right away.
The final word we will look at this week is surrender.
Life more abundantly is found when we’re willing to live it on God’s terms. Surrender is when we say “your will be done” instead of “my will be done.” How can you surrender to God today?
The goal of the Christian life is not growing in information or having an experience. Instead, as we follow Jesus, we will be invited to experience real transformation - to become like Jesus.
How can you yield to Christ’s transforming work today?

Forgiveness is easy, it only takes one person. Reconciliation, however, takes two, and that is what God calls us to pursue.
The goal of reconciliation is restoration and renewal, which is what God did for us through Christ.
How can you take steps towards reconciliation today?
Healing is something we want instantly. If only we could heal from our hurts the moment we forgive, life would be so much easier. When we forgive someone, we have to choose to hold onto our forgiveness and let go of our anger and hurt. What does healing look like for you today?
This week we are looking at five words that are central to our faith.
Today we start with forgiveness.
We forgive others because God, through Christ, has forgiven us.
Who do you need to forgive today?
