Kofi: I have intelligence suggesting Kwame has brought a mobile phone to school. The school security must investigate.

Headmaster: Managenent has checked. There is video evidence to show Kwame did not arrive in school with a mobile phone. The security searched him upon arrival.

Kofi: Headmaster, your video evidence is not credible.

Headmaster: Oh Kofi, why is it not credible?

Kofi: Because it did not emanate from the school security. I would believe the video if it was released by the security.

Headmaster: But the security reports to me. So, i wouldn’t have gotten the video evidence without them.

Ms. Richlove Oduro, a student leader (House Prefect) of Nsein Secondary has a theory about education in Ghana:

1. The so-called top secondary schools are "colonial institutions".
2. They don't really "compete" for students anymore. All the smart kids scramble to get into them, & some pay their way into these schools.
3. They don't add any serious value to the students they admit. The students do most of their own learning and exam passing.
4. Since GES assigns teachers of equal calibre to all the secondary schools, the different academic outcomes cannot be due to teaching but to inherited facilities & inequitable admissions.
5. Students who come out of these schools where it is all about competing to pass exams & no serious training in team work & community building become poorly adjusted elites, corrupt & venal.
6. Nsein Secondary is consciously avoiding this rat race. It is grooming "nobles" for nation building.
7. We shouldn't be scammed by the "show" the big schools put on. It will all unravel in due course.
