After offers from several amazing programs and visiting and meeting professors and students at all of them, I am happy to say that I have decided to attend the University of Kentucky for my PhD.
It’s been such an amazing week! I spent today at Arlington National Cemetery, and then seeing the Washington, Lincoln, and WWII memorials, as well as the Vietnam Wall. Now to get everything ready to head home tomorrow, but I will be back soon, DC!
Okay all, I will finish my research in the archives tomorrow and Thursday morning. Which means I have all of Thursday afternoon to explore. What are things in DC that I for sure should make time to go see?
At what point do you have to finally just say no to some edits and additions even if it’s for a grade? When do additions/edit suggestions turn a paper from the author’s work into something else?
I know it is months away, but are any of my fellow historians planning on going to the SHA/WHA conference in Kansas City in October? I believe I am going to attend, and I wanted to see who else might be in attendance.
