Look closely at the priests’ vestments from Fulton Sheen’s beatification.
On the back of every one was embroidered:
JMJ
It was Fulton Sheen’s signature.
Whenever Sheen stepped before the cameras for Life Is Worth Living, he would begin by writing “JMJ” at the top of his famous blackboard.
Three letters.
Three names.
The entire foundation of his ministry.
And now, at the Mass where the Church officially declared him Blessed Fulton Sheen, 1,000 priests wore those same initials on their backs.
The man who spent his life proclaiming Jesus, loving Mary, and entrusting himself to St. Joseph was honored with those same three names surrounding the altar.
JMJ.
Jesus. Mary. Joseph.
Within 20 months of its introduction in November 2024, Smartlife Flexi members had saved over UGX 180 billion. As shared at The Fund’s 14th Annual Members’ Meeting, the milestone reflects the growing commitment to voluntary saving for the future.
The Fund’s contribution to Uganda goes beyond members’ savings. In FY 2025/26, we paid UGX 301 billion in income tax, contributing to the country’s public revenue as we continued to protect and grow members’ savings.
On his beatification day, we remember what Archbishop Fulton Sheen taught us about prayer: “It is impossible to lose your footing while you are on your knees.” Also: “Prayer is helplessness casting itself on Power, infirmity leaning on Strength, and misery reaching to Mercy.”

Today, the Church celebrates the beatification of Blessed Fulton J. Sheen, a brother Knight whose extraordinary gift for communication brought the Gospel to millions.
Long before social media, podcasts and livestreams, Archbishop Sheen understood the power of media to bring the Catholic faith into everyday life. Through radio and television, he spoke about Christ with clarity, confidence and joy.
Sheen embodied the call to put faith into action and share it boldly with the world. Today, Knights everywhere rejoice to call him Blessed, joining our founder, Blessed Michael McGivney, among the holy men raised up by the Church as examples of faithful Christian life.
May his example inspire us to use the gifts God has given us, and never be afraid to speak to others about Jesus in our everyday circumstances.
Blessed Fulton J. Sheen and Blessed Michael McGivney, pray for us!
