@BethMooreLPM I just finished your memoir & we have so much in common. Not necessarily circumstances, but heart and spirit.
I've known about you for years but just recently began to dig into your studies and books (I was kinda busy homeschooling & raising a house full of kids)😅
Because of God's great love for us and His amazing desire to be in relationship with us, he gave us His Word to know His love for us, how to love him in return, and how to pour that love out on others.
@faithwording@BethMooreLPM Who will speak up in Jesus’ name about broken systems that are seriously harming people? Jesus did this to the Pharisees. He didn’t ignore it. He addressed it.
I really don't think God wants us to live messy lives and just "rest in Him".
He is a very orderly and detail-oriented God and He calls us to be set apart. He desires that we live peaceful lives, free of chaos, clutter, and confusion.
@jpegsupreme@MattWalshBlog So? They were different men with different callings on their lives. One was more forward-facing to the public. That's all. That doesn't make the sniper's life or death less significant.
The greatest commandments are to love God and love people.
Love God = being obedient in heart, soul, mind, and strength
Love your neighbor as yourself = seeking their good as you would your own
@ShoelessTX@thescottbarber Yes, forgive. But don't give him another pastoral position. Leadership positions like pastoring are held at a higher standard. He broke trust. <3
I think we need to go back to the basics of what defines a Christian.
What defines love and hate.
What defines good and evil.
According to God’s Word and not our own feelings or understanding. 💜
The only way to go deeper with God is to deny ourselves, because intimacy with Him requires surrender, humility, and obedience. You can’t hold on to self and fully walk with God at the same time.
