Over 8,000,000 troops from various nations embarked for #WW1 from Southampton. Thousands came back wounded or dying. Many never returned.
Millions more embarked during #WW2 and in later conflicts.
Thinking of them today on #RemembranceSunday.

On Saturday, we spent the day @WWTSlimbridge with some friends, Jason and Louise. It was their first vist, even though they live nearby. It was a lovely day. Here is one of my favourite photos that Ian took.
As it's Friday, I'm asking all my followers to please retweet (and comment) on this post if you see it, to help my bird account be seen!πβ₯οΈ
To make it worth sharing, here's a close encounter with a gorgeous female Kestrel on the cliffs at Brean Down!ππ¦
Thank you very much!π
@silverpebble Hi Emma, your tweet has just appeared on my timeline and these flowers are beautiful. Love the colour combination, definitely brightened my day. I have done a cheeky 'follow' so I get to see more of these photos!
@CarlBovisNature Yes, in my left ear. It's a rushing sound. Very loud some days and head fills woozy. Have hearing loss in that ear & a hearing aid, does help a bit. Ages ago I had the ear syringed after a blocked ear, think it was damaged then. Just have to live with it!
@CarlBovisNature We saw this at Bempton Cliffs back in July 2023. We were not sure at the time, but now think this was a linnet having a dust bath on the cliffs.
I used to look after Jeremy as his childminder when he lived in Southampton when he was little! Love seeing how amazing he is doing, playing basketball professionally in America π₯°
