North West Ambulance Service say paramedics are now given extra training but the coroner wants reassurance it’ll be looked at nationally.

Coroner concludes that baby Jessica Harland may have survived if North West Ambulance Service had got her mother to hospital sooner.

North West Ambulance Service accepts that it paramedics failed to adequately examine & assess the patient which resulted in delays getting her to hospital for the delivery of her baby. Time on scene was 25 mins which NWAS accept was too long in a time critical situation.

North West Ambulance Service says the mother’s symptoms weren’t investigated fully and had they been she’d have been taken to hospital under emergency blue light. The inquest also hears how the ambulance took a 4.4 mile route rather than a 2.9 mile route.
