A federal law enforcement source close to the Guthrie case is confirming to me the NBC report that the second-of-the-original ransom notes in the Nancy Guthrie case indicated that Nancy had passed away.

Fox is told the wording in that second note is believed to have read that Nancy was 'buried with nature.'

For some context: this concept is not necessarily new. There was chatter on the ground in Tucson that the second note indicated Nancy may have passed and there was speculation based off the behavior and wording in one or more of the Guthrie family videos that the family received the message that Nancy had passed.  

Savannah says in a video dated on Feb. 7th "we received your message and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate..."      That particular message was interpreted by some as: we understand she may have passed, please return her body for a celebration of life.

🚨🚨🚨BREAKING: Pima County Sheriff's Department confirms that it has been sharing lab work with the FBI, including DNA evidence recovered inside Nancy Guthrie's home.

"We’ve been sharing a lot of things with their lab, since the beginning," a spokesperson tells Fox News Digital.

The department defers comment to the FBI on what has already been received.

Federal sources concur.

Separately, a source with knowledge of the investigation says investigators had collected a clipping from Nancy's bedsheets early in the investigation — but not on their first visit to the crime scene.
