🚛 Weighbridge Tests Conducted at Busega

Efforts towards the commencement of weighbridge operations on the Expressway are progressing well, following tests conducted at the Busega Weighbridge today.

The tests involved weighing trucks to assess the system’s functionality and accuracy, while ensuring the facility is fully ready to support axle load compliance and protect the Expressway infrastructure.

1. Yes, the collector shall initiate a prompt for the driver to input their PIN.

2. The application has been optimized for Toll collection purposes only. The experience is expected to be even better.

3. The introduction of Mobile Money just introduces an additional payment channel to provide customers with greater flexibility & convenience.

The other channels such as NFC-UPESI Cards and Cash shall remain available in such an event.

🛜TEST RUNS: Mobile Money Toll Payments Coming to Kampala–Entebbe Expressway.

Preparations to introduce Mobile Money payments along the Kampala–Entebbe Expressway toll lanes are progressing well following successful test runs conducted this week.

During the trials, transactions were completed in under a minute, demonstrating that motorists will be able to pay and proceed with minimal delay at the DESIGNATED LANES.

The initiative follows guidance from the Minister of Works and Transport, Hon. Fred Byamukama to expand convenient electronic payment options for expressway users. @KEE_UG

Our August patrol records show that approximately 255 incidents involving vehicle breakdowns and mechanical faults were handled on the Expressway.

Common issues included fuel shortages, engine failure/overheating, tyre problems and timing-belt failures.

Our patrol and towing teams assist motorists, manage traffic and safely move stranded vehicles off the Expressway free of charge.

Please be informed that there will be water supply interruptions along the Entebbe–Kampala Road bulk water transmission main today, Wednesday 2nd September, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

This scheduled interruption is necessary to carry out essential maintenance works aimed at improving water supply reliability.

Affected areas include:
Abaita Ababiri, Kasenyi Road, Nkumba, Mpala, Kitala, Garuga Road, Kawuku, Kisubi, Bwerenga, Bugiri, Namulanda, Lutembe, Dewe, Janyi, Bulonde, Bweya, Lubereto Road, Bwebajja, Ziru, Buzi, Nakawuka Road, Wamala, Akright City, Kitende, Sisa Road.

Customers in the above areas are advised to store sufficient water in advance and use available water sparingly during the interruption period.

📲 Mobile Money Payment onsite tests at the Toll Lanes in Kajjansi

Trials for Mobile Money payments are currently ongoing at the toll lanes as we work towards introducing more convenient payment options for road users.

We kindly ask motorists to slow down to 20 km/h when approaching the toll plaza, follow lane instructions and be patient with our teams.
