I am very critical of settler violence and think Israel needs to do far more to punish it. But that’s not what this is about.

So what appears to have happened here was an intentional political stunt by someone who has built his entire career on stunts.

@RoKhanna had his Palestinian guides take him into a restricted area that is closed off to civilians without requesting access or coordinating with anyone.

Local security (which Khanna intentionally misrepresents as random settlers) then stopped them. IDF arrived and spent time evaluating the situation. Then Israeli police showed up, determined what had happened, and let them go on their way.

No one was hurt or attacked. No one was threatened. Khanna knew going to a restricted area would get a response and he got exactly what he wanted.

I will note that if a random group goes onto a military restricted area in the U.S., they would also be detained and questioned.

Israel is to blame for letting Khanna plan out this stunt, but that’s exactly what it was. And it was predictably coordinated with the press as he had a NYT photographer with him and waited until they released a story days later to even post about it.

Khanna wants to run for president on this nonsense because he has nothing to offer Americans.

Calling Platner’s oyster business “totally fake”, as Maine Wire editor in chief Steven Robinson did, is hyperbolic; he does sell oysters to a restaurant his mother owns.

But Platner had told the New Republic that he hadn’t paid himself a salary from his oyster business for the past five years. It would be interesting to see if Platner’s business has ever generated any profits after expenses, and whether the Internal Revenue Service would classify it as a hobby or a business for the question of deducting business expenses. PolitiFact rated Robinson’s statement “false,” based on his company’s having filed the proper paperwork with the state. Well, that’s one way to measure the legitimacy of a business, but the “no salary for five years,” “not making a living at it,” and “just one customer that is his mom” facts complicate the picture.

He was always going to lose because people with jobs don't pay attention to elections until it's time for the general. Platner's polls went from D+8 to dead even within two weeks of his nomination and that was a month before the rape allegations dropped. He would have lost by 20 because support for him was in a tailspin the second normal humans started paying attention. He was literally out of money. His donations vanished after the primary.

America's problem is that primary voters are pathetic fucking low-IQ incel freaks who have never seen the genitalia of the opposite sex in person and saddle those of us with jobs, friends, and families we care about with terrible extremist candidates year in and year out. With great sadness, we received information about the passing of Dr. Eva V. Ebin, a Hungarian-Jewish Auschwitz Survivor.

Born on 31 October 1926, in Budapest, Dr. Eva V. Ebin, née Eva Szegel, grew up in Munkács, a Jewish community where only about 15 percent survived the Holocaust.

Eva was deported from Munkács to Auschwitz in May 1944 at age 17. Her mother and much of her extended family were murdered upon arrival. In November 1944, she was transferred from Auschwitz to Lenzing, a subcamp of Mauthausen in Austria, where she was liberated in early May 1945.

After the war, she raced to fulfill her childhood dream of becoming a doctor. She completed medical school in Vienna, immigrated to the United States, married, and became Dr. Eva V. Ebin, a board-certified pediatrician and psychiatrist in New York.

She died on July 6, 2026, at 99 years old, and is remembered by three of her four children, 22 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and friends for her elegance, discipline, high standards, and love.
