2. *Current Trade Dynamics:*
- Nigeria now accounts for 64% of South Africa’s total trade with West Africa.
- Total trade between the two nations stands at over $3 billion.

3. *Collaborative Framework:*
- Thirty-four agreements and MOUs are in place, spanning economic, technical, scientific, social, and tourism sectors.
- These agreements signify a strong foundation for diverse cooperation.

4. *AfCFTA Opportunity:*
- As Africa’s largest economies, Nigeria and South Africa play pivotal roles in the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).
- Leveraging the AfCFTA can amplify mutual economic benefits and strengthen regional trade integration.

5. *Corporate Participation:*
- Currently, fewer than 10 Nigerian companies operate in South Africa, compared to over 100 South African businesses in Nigeria.
- To meet President Ramaphosa’s call for more Nigerian products in South Africa, Nigeria needs to enhance its corporate culture and business presence.

6. *South Africa’s Economic Standing:*
- South Africa remains Africa’s biggest economy, largely due to its robust trade relations with Nigeria.
- Strengthening this partnership will benefit both nations and contribute to Africa’s economic growth.

7. *Tourism Growth:*
* The number of Nigerians visiting South Africa for tourism has increased by 20% over the past year.
* This increase has contributed to the 95.1 billion rand ($5.3 billion) in direct spending recorded from international visitors during the 2023-24 financial year.

8. *Growth Potential:*
- Nigeria and South Africa, as economic giants, must continue deepening their collaboration to unlock Africa’s full potential, especially under frameworks like the AfCFTA.
