@NBABoards @kirawontmiss We don't get taxed on lottery money in Canada. If it was 50 million she would get all 50 million, not a penny short. In this example she would have gotten 1 million upfront. Now if she invested the 1 million, they will only apply tax on the growth earned. She made a bad decision.

@martialdre @oyinkanbadejo It's $1 million up front, lottery in Canada is not taxed. She'll be charged tax if she invested it and it grows. The "growth" is what's taxed. She should have taken the million.
