I think people in the industry are more on top of it than indie game twitter would lead you to believe. I've seen especially strong adoption for gameplay programming and art pipelines.

Fortunately none of us are just here for the money, if that's your focus games have been a terrible business model since like 1999 lol.

Honestly the most discouraging part is SWEs who have only ever aspired to maintain CRUD apps at FAANG post these Fable outputs and suggest it invalidates your whole career, technical, and artistic efforts (not saying that's you, there have just been a lot of those types of posts recently).

I'm just gonna keep making games though. It's not about money for most of us and I think that's why we're able to make stuff that some dude in SF trying to fast-FIRE will never make.

Genuinely curious, why do you think it's propaganda?

Anthropic stated things pretty clearly in their own blog post. They are lobbying for regulation that would hamper or prevent deployment of many competing models.

It seems like a clear attempt at regulatory capture, I don't blame people for wanting more options.

They constantly try to paint it as some sort of academic elitist movement when he won across pretty much every level of income and education.
