The good thing is that many of us don’t blindly follow ideologies or borrow our opinions from others. We have no problem with people practising their religion freely. But when religious practices start influencing access to public institutions, government contracts or economic opportunities in ways that disadvantage or exclude others, we will certainly speak out. How much do these Muslim HALAL NPOs make:

SANHA publicly reports its certification revenue at open AGMs. For the 2024 fiscal year it declared R42.9 million from verification services, with audited statements presented to the public and surpluses reinvested as an NPO.

MJC Halaal Trust published figures around R8 million in 2011-12. Recent total certification income is less prominently disclosed, though fee schedules are available and ZoomInfo estimates under R90 million. Both operate as self-funding NPOs. Thread:

As a Christain, do you support the fact that almost every single takeaway brand is halal.

That means that the person doing the slaughtering invokes the name of allah when they slaughter the animal.

This means that the animals are not stunned first.

This means that a fee is paid to a muslim organisation to certify this food.

If am muslim will not eat meat unless it halal, why are Christians having halal food forced onto them when muslims make up 2-3% of the population?

Well, I have more than 3 KFC franchises near me, they are all within a 5km radius to each other and they are all Halaal.

Don’t you think that’s extreme just to cater to 2% of the population?

Halaal meat is the worst for me as a Christian because the animal has to be killed in a specific way by the Dhabih who makes a swift cut to the animal's throat facing the Qiblah (direction of Mecca).

Then he recite the Tasmiyyah: “Bismillah, Allahu Akbar”
(“In the name of Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty is the Greatest”).

KFC is just one example of the forced options. They should only have one Halaal KFC if it is not a propaganda, it would be fair.
