Here’s how this type of fraud happens.

Unscrupulous operators can treat Medicaid like an ATM.

They allegedly recruit seniors by offering cash, gift cards, free meals, transportation, or other incentives to enroll. Once enrolled, they bill Medicaid for services that were never provided, exaggerate the level of care patients supposedly received, bill for people who weren’t present, submit duplicate claims, falsify attendance records, or pay illegal kickbacks to recruit or retain participants.

Every fraudulent claim means taxpayer dollars are diverted away from seniors who truly need care.

Where is our Comptroller?

Where is our Attorney General?

Where is our Governor?

Where is our Mayor?

The Comptroller’s job is to protect taxpayer money, not discover fraud after hundreds of millions have already disappeared. New Yorkers deserve aggressive audits, data analytics that flag suspicious billing patterns, unannounced inspections, referrals to law enforcement, and full public transparency.

@nickshirleyy deserves credit for shining a light on what appears to be serious questions about abuse of taxpayer-funded programs.

Every dollar stolen from taxpayers is a dollar that can’t go to schools, public safety, infrastructure, or legitimate healthcare.

Enough is enough. Follow the money. Audit everything. Prosecute anyone who steals from the people of New York.
