@AnaMardoll I remember feeling like this after 9/11; everything changed in an instant & never went back again. Even 21 years later, so many of our practices and policies still center around our reaction to that trauma. We forget there is no objective "normal", it's just what you're used to.

SoCal animal shelters are overwhelmed with people dropping off injured animals they can't take with them as they flee. Many are in need of volunteers, money, and foster homes ๐งต

@andrewjkeith25 We definitely don't. There is nothing more special about humans than any other life. The idea that we are is what has led to indiscriminate over-use of natural resources and careless disregard for our fellow beings (though other animals also destroy the environment).

@iam_kendiii We do have one child, but after him, for a long time I had an IUD and then switched to Depo. My husband got a vasectomy in 2015ish and I had a hysterectomy two years ago.
