Egypt's disallowed goal was completely against how this tournament has been refereed.
You can't have a light touch where you don't give fouls for minimal contact and then rule out a goal through VAR for a very minimal hold of the shirt.

🚨 Patrice Evra on Folarin Balogun’s red card during USA vs Bosnia and Herzegovina compared to Lionel Messi’s challenge against Algeria:
🗣️ “This is exactly why people are losing faith in VAR. One incident is punished with the harshest decision possible, another similar incident is brushed aside. Explain to me how that makes sense.”
“I watched the Balogun challenge and immediately thought about the Messi incident against Algeria. Football fans are not blind. They remember these moments, and they compare them.”
“What frustrates me isn’t just the red card—it’s the lack of consistency. If you’re going to be strict, then be strict with everyone. If you’re going to let the game flow, then let it flow for everyone.”
“The USA have every reason to feel hard done by. You’re playing a World Cup knockout match, you lose a player, and people are left wondering why the same standard wasn’t applied elsewhere.”
“You cannot build trust in VAR if supporters leave every big game arguing about different decisions. The technology should remove doubt, not create even more controversy.”
“People keep saying the laws are the same for everyone, but nights like this make that very difficult to believe. The biggest stars should never receive different treatment from everyone else.”
“If football wants credibility, then every challenge has to be judged the same way, whether it’s Balogun, Messi or any other player on the pitch. That’s the only standard fans will ever accept.”
@Cap33179@AndrewMarchand Pepi had a whole 2 games and got muscled around. We need Haji to start up front, big body that has 17 goals in the championship this year.
I have been convinced Mauricio Pochettino is 100% returning to club football this summer. But the more I read @AdamCrafton_’s article about the #USMNT offer to Poch, and the more I consider what jobs are currently open…the more I think it’s possible he could maybe stay.
There is a lot of “Paraguay isn’t very good” talk. Full stop.
Under Alfaro, they lost just once in WCQ and went 9 straight without defeat. They beat URG, Brazil, & Argentina.
They were one of the best defensive teams in the 🌎.
Paraguay isn’t bad.
#USMNT made them look bad.
🇺🇸 Everyone doubted the United States… but they might be about to do something HISTORIC at this World Cup.
• USA under Mauricio Pochettino have had plenty of ups and downs, more negative moments than positive ones.
• They arrived at the World Cup after losing 3 of their last 4 friendlies, including a brutal 5-2 defeat against Belgium.
• Nobody expected much from them… and then today, against Paraguay, they delivered the BEST performance of the World Cup so far.
• 4 goals scored, 16 shots, and a dominant attacking display from start to finish.
• Balogun scored twice, but Pulisic was the star. He carried the United States on his back throughout the first half.
It is still early, but the USA have started this World Cup with a BIG statement. 💫🇺🇸
Terrible: People have been making fun of Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion for the way he spoke while answering questions at the NFL combine.
KC has a speech impediment and has been stuttering his whole life.
Give him praise, not negativity ❤️👏
How did Mary Hardin-Baylor, a private Division III university with fewer than 4,000 students, grow into a football juggernaut with such an outsized impact on the TXHSFB coaching ranks?
@dctf spoke with legendary coach Pete Fredenburg, Austin Westlake HC Tony Salazar, and Southlake Carroll HC Lee Munn to find out.
