Mushy rice, tasteless food, squished pasta is the kind of feedback we hear from people about the food they get from community kitchens. The quality of food in most community kitchens tends to be low.

This is why we work with specific kitchens that provide high quality basmati rice that is cooked with oil and spices. We also distribute it tent by tent rather than have people queue up to receive the food.

These might seem like minor details during a famine but we find them important to preserve peoples dignity no matter how difficult things are in Gaza. Our distribution today was in Tuyoor Muhajera camp in Khan Younis, and 250 plates cost $2,573.

I was removed from an MSO performance for introducing a piece dedicated to journalists killed in Gaza, where I shared factual, verified information. The orchestra claimed this was an inappropriate political intrusion. This court decision affirms that I deserve the right to be heard.
