What is the Church Housing Foundation?
A community across and beyond the Church, built on mutual help and support
A charity to support this community, chaired by the Bishop for Housing
A gateway to relevant resources
A voice that inspires, engages, and gently holds to account
Our proposals are going to the Archbishops Council in December and we are grateful for any support.

Ending homelessness is a huge task, requiring those with power to come together and work for those with none. It's therefore a great encouragement to see the launch of #Homewards. @Guli_FD has issued a statement of support as the lead Bishop for Housing for @churchofengland 👇
We loved hearing from @KateNHF at our conference last November; she spoke with wisdom and passion about the role the Church can play in meeting housing need. This report shows why action is needed, and clearly sets out how good housing underpins so much of what people care about.
Today @natfednews has launched a new report on a long-term plan for housing, along with polling on what the public think. Well worth a look!
We agree💯that a long term strategy is necessary; good housing is a foundation for life on which people and communities can build.👏
The shortage of #SocialHousing has led to rising poverty, homelessness and social inequality. It also has a knock-on impact on people’s mental and physical health.
UK voters recognise the value of social housing and the broader societal benefits it has.

Sometimes financial sacrifice is necessary, but there are choices that require thought rather than cash. Every build is a chance to put in place foundations for healthy and stable lives for everyone, not just the minority who will never have extra needs.

What can we do? Well, as a start, ensuring that for any housing project inclusive design is integrated into our thinking. For example, when engaging professionals, their capability on inclusive design should be part of our evaluation.
An almshouse - the 'oldest form of social housing in the world' can help people live well and flourish. New research from @BayesBSchool supported by @AlmshouseAssoc demonstrates the effect. Lovely stories in this article on the experiences of residents👇

Serious challenges to retrofit the 'leakiest housing in Europe', but great to hear about innovative ways some energy suppliers are working to support people in making this change.
Great listening to @l_shooter_ from Energy UK discuss on the @GlosDioc May webinar why energy reduction is important to climate change and household bills...and also supports health, wellbeing and productivity.
