A gorilla who hadn’t seen a man for 35 years ran toward him, after remembering he was the one who saved him from poachers.

David was part of a rescue team that raided a poaching site deep in the Congo, where several gorillas had been taken and kept in terrible conditions.
Some were too weak to survive.

But one baby gorilla did.

When David stepped close, the little gorilla ran straight to him, wrapped around his leg, and refused to let go. David prepared a bottle of milk, picked him up, and held him like a baby who had just lost everything.

After that, the baby was taken to a sanctuary, and David visited whenever he could.

But the war against poachers never stopped.

For years, David kept working in other regions, and life pulled him away from the gorilla he never forgot. By the time he finally returned, 35 years had passed, and he thought there was no way the animal would remember him.

Then he stepped into the sanctuary. The gorilla saw him and ran toward him. People nearby froze, thinking he was charging, but David knew before anyone else did.

It wasn’t anger. It was recognition. The gorilla reached him, wrapped his massive arms around him, and pulled him close the same way David had held him as a baby.

David just let it happen. Because after 35 years, that gorilla wasn’t seeing a stranger. He was seeing the first human who ever made him feel safe.

Since they got de-listed as a terrorist organization in 2012 on procedural grounds, MEK and their fronts have been actively recruiting US politicians selling themselves as a moderate alternative to Khomeini. But RAND Corporation says MEK meets the qualifications for a cult, citing criteria such as forcing their members to work 16+ hour days and forced divorces.

Polls of the Iranian-American community shows that they do NOT accept Rajavi, MeK's leader, as legitimate, with a 46-point net disapproval - numbers nearly as bad as the existing regime.

As Pence's former Chief of Staff, Marc Short, has already weighed against Trump deal, it's helpful to recall this.

- Expands housing-related programs and grants without adding stronger verification, citizenship requirements, or bans on funds flowing to noncitizens
- States like California would be able to use the money for programs to pay for housing for illegals
- The bill does not restrict non-US citizens or foreign entities from buying home
- It expands COVID-era eviction moratoriums and protections, which favors tenants like noncitizens over landlords and American citizens

Here is a prediction that I expect will go over like a skunk at a church picnic:

Judge Anna Reyes in the D.C. District Court will grant a Permanent Injunction on the full merits regarding the ending of TPS within days of jurisdiction of the case being returned to her.

She will do so based on the Equal Protection claim that the decision to terminate TPS for Haiti was motivated by racial animus, and she will do so based on an expanded record by inviting supplemental briefing by both parties and the submission of additional "evidence."

This will create a more robust record, and she will say the more robust record makes the basis for her decision on a permanent injunction different than the basis of her decision on the preliminary injunction that Justice Alito set aside.

This will happen after the Supreme Court is going out of session on its summer recess.

The Supreme Court is likely to stay any such injunction pending appeal -- if the D.C. Circuit does not -- but this process is going to build in several more weeks before removals of illegal aliens from Haiti can begin.

Congressman Jim Jordan has filed a motion for a full floor vote to expel Congresswoman Maxine Waters for voting illegally by proxy.

The woman who spent years cleaning hotel rooms — helped raise the man who now represents America on the world stage. And if we fail to honor her today, we are overlooking one of the most inspiring stories of sacrifice and love.

Hardly anyone talks about Oriales Rubio. Few people share her story. Few remember the long days she spent making beds, stocking shelves, and working tirelessly so her son, Marco, could have opportunities she never had.

She arrived from Cuba in 1956 with very little. Yet she devoted her life to building a better future for her family. Every early morning, every exhausting shift, every sacrifice was made with one goal in mind — giving her children a chance to succeed.

Marco Rubio witnessed that dedication firsthand. And everywhere life took him — the Senate, the White House, the State Department, and across the world — he carried the lessons and values his mother gave him.

She was always with him.

On September 27, 2019, Oriales Rubio passed away peacefully at the age of 88, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply and worked so hard to support.

After her passing, Marco shared words that touched countless hearts:

“God blessed her with almost 89 years of life filled with love. The love she had for her children is but a glimpse of the even greater love God has for His.”

From a woman who worked humble jobs to support her family... to seeing her son become one of America’s most recognized leaders — it is a story of faith, perseverance, and hope.

Only God can write stories like that.

Today, let us take a moment to remember Oriales Rubio and the countless mothers whose sacrifices helped shape the future of their children.
