@Irish_Aid @PacidaKenya In a village in Moyale I met Daki who is a member of a self-help group who received a grant from another partner, @CifaKenya. She told me; “During the drought there was no water around. We carried the water drum on our backs which is painful and we lost a lot of time doing it.”

@Irish_Aid @PacidaKenya @CifaKenya To counter this the group used their grant to buy a water tank & pay for water to be delivered which they sell to the community at a lower price, helping people save money & time trekking long distances to fetch it. The group use their profits to pay school fees & medical bills.

@Irish_Aid @PacidaKenya @CifaKenya Cash support provided by our local partners @PacidaKenya & @CifaKenya reached people during their time of urgent need & the training & grants provided to the self-help groups have supported them to be the leaders of the change they want to see within their own communities.
