Dylan Crews is a frustrating evaluation in baseball. If you’re only box-score watching, you’re missing the real story.

Yes, the former No. 2 overall pick hasn't met the sky-high expectations yet.

The surface numbers are undeniably brutal:
2026 Season: .193 AVG | .574 OPS
Career: .208 AVG | .622 OPS
But look under the hood, and the analytics paint a drastically different picture. Crews is currently the victim of bad batted-ball luck in the majors.

Check out the underlying metrics:

⚾xSLG: .474 (a massive .149 differential from his actual SLG)

All the expected numbers point toward high-end production.
