Hence, the wall units/mini splits are the most common AC system.

@metafrost @Radim322 @MattShel1989 @noitsmazzie There still is an indoor unit - that’s how AC works. You have a heat exchanger inside (the condenser), and one outside (the compressor). It’s just that in the US you usually combine the condenser with the furnace and reuse the same vents for cooling as you do for heating.

@Radim322 @MattShel1989 @noitsmazzie They all work the same, you have a compressor outside and condensers inside. For those wall units, the condenser is in each one of those. In the US you have one BIG condenser in the basement and the cold air from that is carried through vents in the walls/ceilings to every room.

Where we do need a lot of parking, we tend to put it underground/in a multilevel structure with a smaller footprint.

@_Flamsey This is comparing Steam, not PC generally. Steam ensures compatibility for all games available on its platform, including modifying them or running them in an emulator if needed (e.g. you can still buy and run old DOS games on Steam, and it will run them in DOSBox automatically).

Interlacing just means that you’re drawing every second line every second frame.

@JustinWhang Someone that wants a tiny gaming PC that fits in their media centre and plugs into their TV. You can’t really build your own in this same form factor (mini-ITX is larger). About the only comparable devices are the Intel/ASUS NUC line, and those are substantially more expensive.

@vuirich @beansland_89 Australia is a big continent-sized places with large houses and a lot of suburbia (meaning it’s car-dependent and has a lot of that same love of open space, road trips etc. than the US). It has a similar state and federal government setup. That’s where the similarities lie.
