Saddened to see news of death of @Local12 medical reporter Liz Bonis. Worked with her often when I was at UC. If Liz was coming to do the story, along with photojournalist James Harrison, you knew it was the Real Deal. They died within weeks of each other. Heckuva news team.
I can recall when you could pretty much count on a Cincinnati police cruiser setting up camp between the Dana and Edwards exits on I-71 NB daily. So being passed by 5 motorcycles doing at least 90 and weaving through traffic in the space of 15 seconds today made me ... nostalgic.
Comically early @enquirer print deadlines lead to lots of head-scratching moments. Leading the Sports section the day after Opening Day with a photo of a 98% empty Great American Ball ranks right up there.
@WeAreFarmers Closing the book on my Brent Spence Bridge chapter. I should not have had to pay deductible (trucker admitted fault for almost knocking me off bridge then later recanted), but @WeAreFarmers never had my back on that and of course raised my rates. Have finally switched insurers.
Welp, my Brent Spence Bridge days are over (northbound, at least) after being sideswiped by a semi on approach from Kentucky side. Driver was nice guy, stopped, called 911, etc., Covington policeman (also nice) came. Safely home, with some help from @AAA_Travel.
Meanwhile, what has *my* insurer, @WeAreFarmers, done for me? Glad you asked! Basically nothing. You'd think someone would reach out to me and say "Hey, I'm on the case and will be fighting for you." Nope. Everything is happening on Chubb's terms, which does not bode well.
Per Cincinnati @BusinessCourier:
The Enquirer had a daily print circulation of 17,637 and a Sunday circulation of 27,248 in 2024, according to a USA Today Co.'s Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
What secular occupation on earth was there for a young man which was at once gentlemanly, lucrative, and to be followed without special knowledge? #middlemarchquotesthathithome
