Took the @NTOA "Law Enforcement Response and Interaction with the Developmentally Disabled Community" training yesterday.

Phenomenal course - both from a professional and personal perspective.

If you've been thru CIT, this is a great enhancement with a lot of thought-provoking case studies and discussions.

More than ever, we need Responders who understand the dynamics of interacting with individuals who are on the autism spectrum, deaf or hearing impaired, have Down syndrome, or have social and cognitive challenges and behavioral differences, and can apply compassionate response and deescalation.
