"The crossing is indicative of the vibrant and tolerant community on the road and to see it covered sends the opposite message.
...most of Auckland stands with the LGBTQI+ community" Local resident, City Vision's Richard Northey
It is highly unusual for the Mayor to be spending big bucks during a Long Term Plan consultation period telling Aucklanders what he wants to hear.
This is the time to listen to the feedback #HaveyouSay by this Thur 28 March
https://t.co/UFYkhiDLz7
Having @MayorWayneBrown spending public money on ads urging Aucklanders to back his version of the 10 Year Budget, seems at odds with at least the spirit of the current consultation period when the council is meant to listen, not tell
Why is Wayne Brown sounding increasingly twitchy and unmayoral? His proposal to privatise @AKLPort as part of the Long Term Plan is unravelling.
Feedback is due by this Thur 28 March.
Here is our handy submission guide #Haveyoursay https://t.co/UFYkhiDdJz
Brown hit back at the “group of self-importants”, saying they haven’t even read the proposal they are complaining about or bothered to talk to him.

The community are welcome to write messages in the memorial book for MP Fa'anana @efesocollins during operating hours Mon-Sat at the Māngere Arts Centre. Any flowers will be handed over to the family before the day of the funeral.
A simple way to honour Efeso Collins today would be to read his maiden speech. He gave it last week. As he says in it, E le tu fa'amauga se tagata. Vale Fa’anānā Efeso Collins

Kua hinga te totara, a Chief has fallen and its being felt across the motu and across Te Moananui ā Kiwa.
Fa'nānā Efeso, thank you for your service, Chief.
Kia au te moe.
Whakaaronui ki tō whānau
We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the sudden death of our friend and colleague Fa'anānā Efeso Collins. Our thoughts and deepest condolences with Fia and his adored girls at this most devastating of times
Outrageous. That story was on the Nzherald website prominently for hours. Apparently the minister even used the $500k figure in parliament.
A correction so small when the price in the headline was 20-25x higher than the actual cost?
These stories help spread misinformation.
It's exhausting for the community who strongly support this project to constantly have to respond to @nzherald's misleading & inaccurate reporting. We're extremely concerned that @BernardOrsman's personal campaign against safe pedestrian crossings is putting lives at risk
Yes, the headline was out by 1500%, and the story purposely didn't include the real cost of the pedestrian crossings it was complaining about and the only community voice it quoted was a random lady who added more incorrect info to the mix but besides that pretty good reporting
Bernard Orsman writes a shock-horror story about discovering raised crossings in a project whose plans have been public for more than four years. Did he just not bother to look at them every other time he wrote about it? https://t.co/eGH8UUIXgj
A year ago many Aucklanders experienced terrifying landslides and flooding. 4 people died.
For some it was a life changing night, followed by huge challenges. The mahi continues for individuals, neighbourhoods, and our city h/t Cr @juliefairey
Ngā mihi o te Wā Season’s Greetings from City Vision. The year in review from our Waitematā, Albert-Eden and Puketāpapa Local Board teams and final wrap up from Cr @juliefairey

Nine years since @AklTransport claimed there was no alternative but to chop us down – and the people responded “Are you sure about that?” – we are still standing!
Proud of how a community came together to thwart silly willy-nilly destruction.
Meri Kirihimete! ❤️💚🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
A year in review from the Albert-Eden Local Board team Margi Watson, @cjr_robertson@MaskillJulia and Liv Roe. 2023 has been full of highlights but also some significant challenges. We thank them for all their mahi https://t.co/ekVZMNsQgg
