Let that sink in.

This year I attended IndiaSoft in New Delhi.

They refunded my ticket. Gave me a hotel. Because they understand that when serious tech people attend, serious tech gets purchased.

ICT Authority is charging Ksh 80,000 to attend.

Eighty thousand shillings.

To attend a conference that reminds me of my high school science congress except my high school had better ideas and cheaper mandazi.

The original 2009 Summit Objectives launched with were serious and visionary.

What you have built instead is a per diem distribution mechanism with a tech theme.

Government ICT officers will attend because the government is paying.

The real Kenyan tech community will not attend because we are paying ourselves.

And Ksh 80,000 is not a conference fee.

It is an insult with a lanyard attached.

Change the strategy or shut it down.

A full tent with zero impact is not success.

It is just noise in an expensive venue.
