A few things:

1. We need to think about boys as we redesign schools, and getting rid of phones is awesome. Kudos to Haidt and others.

2. Kids don't "burn off" energy at recess. Catharsis theory is bogus. Kids come in more energized, not less.

3. Recess is awesome for kids.

Why do some evangelical pastors preach so harshly against Latter-day Saints?

There are, roughly, three takes from my protestant friends after the Michigan shooting:

1. I'm heartbroken. I'm so sorry.
2. Mormons aren't Christian, but like, I'm so sorry.
3. I "feel bad," but most of my energy will be devoted to recapitulating the views of the shooter.

The overwhelming response I'm hearing from my protestant friends on the recent Michigan shooting is simple: "I'm so sorry." "I'm heartbroken." "I'm praying for you."
