🇺🇸 A 15-year-old suspect will stand trial as an adult after a mass shooting near Florida A&M University that left 11 people wounded, including six minors

Authorities identified the teenager as Anthony Rivers III. He faces 11 counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a delinquent.

Officials noted his prior criminal record, which is why he was designated a “delinquent” rather than a minor.

The shooting erupted roughly an hour after FAMU’s homecoming football game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, on a crowded street.

Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell said a physical altercation broke out between people who knew each other before shots were fired.

Eleven people suffered gunshot wounds and a 12th sustained a related injury.

The victims include six adults and six minors. The youngest is 11. Four of the wounded are local students, one of whom remains in critical condition.

This figure from the Economist looks bad, but reality is in fact even worse.

Sexual offences is a broad category. And as a rule, the more severe the crime, the higher the over-representation of perpetrators from the Middle East and Africa.

We can see this in the data from Denmark, which has the best quality crime data in the world. Here we can break down both by ancestry and by severity of offence.

The figure shows that in Denmark people from Middle East and Africa are vastly more over-represented for rape than for sexual offences. The same is likely the case for England as well, so if they had the data available to draw the red rape circle, it would be much further to the right.
