Today, we’re in Hong Kong with our partners at the International Financial Technology Forum. 🇭🇰The fireside chat between #WEAJAPAN and #NETSTARS brought that question into focus: can paying with stablecoins in a store feel as natural as scanning a QR code?

We believe broader adoption starts with making payments easy for merchants to accept and simple for customers to use, with the complex technology working quietly in the background.

That’s what #NetX is working toward with #Coral.🪸 We’re turning the technology and experience gained from payment pilots in Japan into standardized, configurable payment services, helping more partners connect existing Web2 business systems with Web3 payments.

The Coral console preview is already live, with the full testing experience expected to open in November.

Japan just changed how tourists get their tax back, and a yen stablecoin is now part of the answer 🇯🇵

What changed on Nov 1
Japan's tax-free shopping moved to a refund model. Visitors now pay the tax-inclusive price at the shop, then get the tax back after customs confirms the goods are leaving Japan.

So every refund now has to be SENT to the traveler afterwards. Usually that means card refunds or international transfers, with fees and a final amount that's hard to predict.

What's new 👇
UPBOND and Japan Tax Free launched a service where visitors can receive that refund in $JPYC, the yen stablecoin, sent straight to a wallet (on @avax ). No wallet yet? U can set one up inside the flow.

Why it matters
• Can cut the transfer fees of card/international routes
• Every refund is recorded onchain, so it's trackable
• The traveler keeps digital yen for the next trip to Japan

Japan's tourism minister also reportedly mentioned considering stablecoins for tax refunds in parliament last month.

My take: this is the kind of use case that actually scales. Nobody needs to "learn crypto", they just get their money back, cheaper.

And it closes a loop. A tourist flying home with JPYC is exactly the person who could spend it at a shop counter next visit. That offline side is where @WEA_JP is focused, powered by @netx_world tech. Refunds out, payments in 🔥

The price action on $NETX has been brutal. There’s no point pretending otherwise.

But while everyone is staring at the chart, something potentially far more significant is unfolding beneath the surface.

For months, the question has been: What is NetX actually contributing to WEA JAPAN and NETSTARS’ stablecoin payment infrastructure?

Now, independent community research is beginning to connect the dots through on-chain evidence.

1. PaymentRouter contracts operating across Polygon and Morph.

2. Shared relayers, receiving wallets and deployment relationships linked to NetX infrastructure.

3. Reported payment activity coinciding with the Lawson stablecoin pilot, including a significant concentration of transactions on 17 August.

4. Coral’s public payment environment reportedly sharing receiving infrastructure with these PaymentRouter systems.

5. Evidence suggesting the payment infrastructure was being tested before Coral’s public-facing activity.

Think about what that could mean.

Coral is not a product being built from scratch. It is the commercial interface for payment infrastructure that has already been developed and tested.

We’ve gone from announcements and partnerships to identifiable contracts, transaction histories, payment routing and technical relationships that can actually be investigated. The pieces are increasingly coming together.

Meanwhile, Coral’s announced roadmap outlines NETX-linked product access, additional paid environments, enterprise integrations and eventual commercial deployment.

Saw this photo posted by @Kouhou_NSS CEO got me connecting a few dots from TOKEN2049.

I met some of the people involved at the event and heard them discussing collaborations in the works involving @Kouhou_NSS x @WEA_JP x @netx_world ecosystem. Looking at this photo now, some of the steps they mentioned seem to be lining up.

My guess? There could be more to this than ecosystem and business partnerships. Maybe there’s an investment angle too 💰. That’s purely my own speculation for now, so I’m waiting for more details. But honestly, I’m already getting a little excited 🔥

I also heard at the event that @IOHK_Charles is very interested in Japan’s stablecoin market and sees a lot of potential in @WEA_JP. He personally continued discussions with WEA and NetX after the event about potential collaboration. If those conversations turn into something concrete, this could get even more interesting.

Keeping an eye out for updates. Curious to see how these dots connect. 🤨
