1/3 My partner who bought a leasehold property has just been hit by the news that his apartment we both share the costs of, is apparently only worth £33,500. A similar property went for auction yesterday for this price on our complex. All thanks to 🔥 cladding by @TaylorWimpey

Day 3 of seeing this bill. Still not sleeping. What to do? Cry? Laugh at the absurdity of 2 month deadline to pay? Pay some? Pay none? Pay all? Borrow from friends or family? Use all savings? It’s no longer home. It’s become a money pit.

@JakeEllis @LeaseholdHosta1 @RichardNewby3 @RishiSunak So just had a bill for £32,000 to be paid by end of July. A third of it is for non essential works the MA has added to the remediations with our Board’s permission. I am sure MA will love the kickbacks. This is after some BSF funding. It is here and it’s not just a nightmare.

@PartheniaValue @LKP @NLC_2019 @mhclg I’ve just been quoted £25k by my freeholder today to deviate the doubling ground rent and cap it at £300 PA. £25k !!!!!! I will get no benefit from this ... the new buyer will get all the benefit ... she has refused to contribute to costs ... so depressing.

Today I found out that my freeholder takes a commission for placing insurance on the building. 10% commission for taking out the same insurance with the same company at an increased premium of 40%. Easy £2k commission. E&J stealth tax on leaseholders #leaseholdscandal #lease

So the "charitable organisation" @optivohomes just emailed me back to say they can't offer buyback on my flammable flat. They may consider buying back SOME of my shares. Which, in essence, might leave me "owning" only 10% of my flat, but eligible for 100% of the remediation bill.

@RobertJenrick @andy4wm Rob, i just received my fire safety remediation bill which is £74k. Our issues are not covered by the BSF fund. Can you explain to me where am I supposed to find such money? Plus I pay for waking watch, £300 pm. On top of mortgage #BuildingSafetyCrisis #EndOurCladdingScandal
