@SuellaBraverman Your hardlines on anyone you think don't make a criteria mean there is no room for you to make mistakes. Maybe try being a human being next time. Bye.
Very sorry to see @michaelgove sacked. He worked harder than any of his predecessors to try and #endourcladdingscandal. The solution isn’t perfect but was a step change on what was offered before. Now he’s gone the risk is that there’ll be no heavyweight to see things through.
Exc: Large property funds are lobbying against govt plans to protect leaseholders from cladding costs. In a letter to Michael Gove, they said the proposed legislation would infringe their human rights

By the 16/06/17 we were still searching for our loved ones, still looking for accommodation for our families, and still had no strategy or support from local or central government. Yet while #Grenfell Tower burned, government were making efforts to hide the truth from the public.
@TheFCA This has, and continues to be, been such a source of stress and anxiety for so many leaseholders. Our insurance costs are now half our annual service charge, up tenfold!! we have been absolutely rinsed despite being a well managed block who followed all the rules
🧵 This announcement will mean little if insurers are still able to hike up their premiums by 1000% irrespective of the alarm systems and other safety measures put in place to reduce risk 1/3
Innocent leaseholders are being left out of pocket AGAIN. It’s time the Govt did right by them and protected them from all the costs caused by the building safety scandal 3/3
➡️BSF delays -> Rising materials costs (widely a major problem = profiteering or simply supply and demand?)
And -> Works suspended
➡️Insurance costs up 40%
➡️Huge responsibility on shoulders of volunteer resident director of management company
55 months on from Grenfell:
- No requirement for a second staircase in high rises
- No requirement to fit fire alarms
- No national strategy on how to evacuate high rises
- No requirement to plan for the escape of disabled residents
And we're told there has been an overreaction
House builders who failed to put in fire breaks, ensure robust internal compartmentation, made & continue to make huge profits through taxpayer funded schemes now upset that they might be held accountable for the own mistakes.

I am grateful to @team_greenhalgh for raising this issue.
If you are in a building 11-18 metres please note that the managing agents have been requested *not* to issue service charge demands until the detail of funding is made clear.
1/ It’s over 4.5 years since I found out my flat was wrapped in dangerous cladding…and yet STILL - despite funding - the building still isn’t fixed. On days like today it's hard not to feel like we've been here before... #EndOurCladdingScandal
We would like to thank @MichaelGove for a constructive meeting today.
This is our statement following his speech in the House of Commons

Right so: some thoughts on what Gove has announced and is set to announce later (details courtesy of @JSimpsonjourno).
Some good. Some bad. Some potentially ugly (thread)
