1/5 working flat out in the NHS, I come home & discover my service charge has increased by over 100% - is this how you reward key workers affected by the cladding scandal @RobertJenrick? I shouldn't be worrying about affording a food shop whilst I'm looking after a patient.
8 years.
2,922 days since our loved ones were taken from us.
Still no justice.
Now they're demolishing the Tower. Trying to erase history.
But we will never forget.
Walk with us tonight at the Silent Walk to show those responsible we won't stop until justice is served.
8 years on. Still far from justice. Still far from peace.
Today, and always, we stand shoulder to shoulder with the Grenfell bereaved, survivors and community.
We will remember the 72 people who died. We will honour their memory. We will demand justice 💚
🔴 We strongly welcome the Public Accounts Committee Report on Remediation of Dangerous Cladding.
We thank the @CommonsPAC Chair & members for shining a light on the Govt's failure to tackle this crisis.
Our statement 👇
@AngelaRayner@AlexJJNorris
https://t.co/yYMRS0Whn9
👉 "Fire and rescue services “lack sufficient capacity” and the workforce needed to identify and inspect all mid-rise housing blocks"
❗"The number of mid-rise residential buildings is not known, however estimates range from 79,000 to 150,000."
👇 @mhclg see the problem?
72 people died at Grenfell. No-one, and no firm has been prosecuted and no-one has lost their job as a result.
Over 2,400 other tower blocks are similarly dngerous.
The government will need to respond on all these issues.

📢 @UKLabour has announced its Cladding Remediation Acceleration Plan.
The "plan" looks extremely disappointing. Innocent leaseholders and residents across the country need and deserve much more.

#EndOurCladdingScandal
Ahead of @mhclg questions and the Grenfell Tower Inquiry Phase 2 Report debate on Monday, we've written a statement on where things stand and where they need to be 👇🏼

Over two years after the leaseholder protections became law, three further amendments to the Building Safety Act came into force on Thursday 👇🏼

Is the BS Act operating as intended yet @mhclg@AngelaRayner?
Or will that be another 2+ years?
The #cladding scandal has created many accidental landlords
Banks are still unwilling to lend mortgages on unfixed flats which leaves leaseholders like Kerry completely stuck - unable to sell before potential tax rises come in, by no fault of their own 👇

For what it's worth, as the data is full of holes, the latest @mhclg building safety remediation stats have been published.
More unsafe homes. More delays and disputes. No grip. No end in sight.
https://t.co/nFKKqI9J7I
Government and developer delays continue to have serious mental and physical health impacts on residents trapped in homes with life threatening fire safety defects.
Thanks to @SarahCorkerNews for her latest report. ⬇️ https://t.co/7MsRRLHSc2
"Your life choices are materially impacted. It’s young people who might want to start a family and they have to become accidental landlords. That’s then tying up properties for first-time-buyers. There's a lot of people who are older and want to downsize"

The govt deliberately hid tests it commissioned pre #Grenfell that showed #cladding was dangerous & flammable.
The govt then engaged in deceit & cover-up post Grenfell.
It is now time for the govt to pay a hefty compensation to ALL its victims of the #BuildingSafetyCrisis.
🆕 Podcast
The cladding crisis continues to have a devastating effect on the physical and mental health of its victims.
Why are the government so slow to respond?

Insidious and dangerous practices here being allowed by @mhclg.
If @AngelaRayner & @Keir_Starmer do not get a grip of this, it's only a matter of time before another tragedy will strike.
#BuildingSafetyCrisis
@mhclg#Ballymore has self-declared more than half its buildings (48 out of 85), despite most of its assessed buildings being found to need remediation (25 of 37).
👉Fairview, Miller & Grosvenor have also made self-declarations

@mhclg The data shows developers using this loophole tend to have a high failure rate (% requiring remediation) when their buildings *are* professionally assessed.
This could be particularly concerning where a developer is also the freeholder.
Where are the checks & balances? 🫤
