Core signs you’re chronically dysregulated:
1. You can’t engage in conflict without lashing out or completely shutting down
2. You’re consistently feeling tired but wired (want to sleep but can’t)
3. You’re impatient and feel agitated at your baseline
when someone respectfully informs us that something we’ve said or done was hurtful, this shows that:
a) they trust us enough with their feelings to talk about it
b) they’re identifying behaviour that is a potential threat to the connection and value it enough to want to repair
the animal sanctuary account i follow just made a post about how one of their elephants had a “i didn’t know i was pregnant” type delivery that was so shocking that when the baby just dropped out onto the ground the other elephants ran away screaming
Sometimes, having to start a task can be the hardest and most frustrating thing in the world to me. I often force myself to sit down and start working but I only get irritated until I cry. This is so hard to explain.

@slugisland @jershaw01@pot8um So much this. I'm a captioner cuz that's the only work I can find as a disabled person. In order to do a job CORRECTLY I get paid less than five dollars an hour.
@pot8um I do captioning myself and if the speaker says something -- even a cuss word -- we are to write it.
I am not bilingual though, nor are we paid enough to be so if it is a different language that is all I write.
