Meet Natacha Abingeneye — a Rwandan human rights activist and civic organizer based in Belgium, committed to democracy, justice, and peaceful dialogue. As former President of Jambo ASBL, she helped mobilize the Rwandan diaspora around civic participation and engagement on the future of Rwanda, while promoting dialogue, justice, and reconciliation in the Great Lakes region.
From exile, @NAbingeneye continues to advocate for fundamental freedoms and the right of Rwandans to participate in shaping their country’s future. Her work reflects a belief that lasting democratic change requires citizen engagement, accountability, and the courage to confront difficult questions of memory, justice, and reconciliation.
@jamboasbl@Xavier_Bettel@MFA_Lu Un pays perd ses valeurs quand il soutient des bandits terroristes ( qui violent, massacrent, volent, mentent...). Cette complicité joue le rôle de #RECELEUR
@mkainerugaba What I like about you is that you speak loud what many Hima/Tutsi whisper to each other. What's in your DNA shows up when you drink lots of whiskey
"Productive meeting with #Malawi officials in Geneva regarding recent displacement of #Rwandan & other refugees. Malawi made clear its stance - asylum seekers must respect local laws, incl. residing in camps unless they possess permissions otherwise. Regret was expressed for initial brutalities & unjust detentions. Promise was given for smooth transitions in future, offering rightful return in towns and cities for any wrongfully displaced.
Malawi urged refugees to respect law, avail legal remedies where unjustly treated, incl. those facing deportation. Legal aid & civil society support was recommended. Assurance of humane operation protocols was provided, incl. possible Dzaleka Refugee Camp closure & relocation.
Grateful for Malawi's openness to address concerns, promising to relay them to the Interior & Security Minister. Our collaboration will continue for the benefit of all refugees. #RefugeeRights #StandWithRwandanRefugees
"Constructive meeting with @Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva concerning the ongoing forced displacement of Rwandan refugees in Malawi. UNHCR is actively monitoring the situation and is committed to ensuring displaced refugees are resettled humanely.
Grateful for their engagement with the Malawi government to ensure adherence to humanitarian principles. Pleased to learn of UNHCR looking at ways to support Malawi's legal aid for refugees in need. #RefugeeRights. #UNHCR #StandWithRwandanRefugees
@Kanyabugoyi13@TheoMpoze@jumuiya@RFI *... to kill all Tutsis" is same old lie used everywhere in the region. How come it's only Tutsis targeted by all those groups?
❗️❗️❗️Thread: As we observe the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, we have a special thought for all the victims of enforced disappearance especially those who keep disappearing in Rwanda, which is the world leader in proportion to its population.
#RDC: Il faut le dire, mais le dire ne suffit pas!
Il faut la diplomatie, mais la diplomatie ne suffit pas non plus!
#PaulKagame ne comprend pas le langage diplomatique et il l'a démontré depuis + de 30 ans! Son seul langage est: LA GUERRE, POINT.
@alainfoka2005@RDC_Minafet@RFI
@thetimes@janeflan@PaulKagame wants that £120M. He is marketing his asylum services high enough to counter the criticism of the plan. The hotel beauty doesn't remove the fact that UK is breaking Geneva convention & rights of refugees
If Denmark wants a "zero asylum policy" (except for Ukrainians and other White people in distress) - then that's their problem, it is their nation and they make the rules;
But when African nations like Rwanda become "part of the solution", it becomes Africa's problem too.
